Osborn’s on hand for the Hawks

WHITEHAWK 2 POOLE TOWN 0

WHITEHAWK secured their National League South status for next season after they beat fifth-place Poole Town whilst Gosport could only draw at Concord Rangers.

Frankie Sutherland and Alex Osborn scored either side of half-time for the Hawks in a 2-0 win.

Andy Woodman’s side got off to the perfect start as they broke the deadlock just fourteen minutes in.

Osborn did well to lay the ball off to Sutherland 20 yards out, and the midfielder picked his spot past Nick Hutchings and into the far corner.

Glen Southam then saw his shot blocked before Osborn fired the rebound straight at Hutchings, before Poole threatened to equalise.

A loose ball fell to Steve Devlin 25-yards out, but the Poole midfielder’s fierce volley flew just wide.

The Hawks went 2-0 up midway through the second half after Danny Mills did well to dispossess a Poole defender before going through on goal, only to square the ball across to Osborn who made no mistake from inside the area.

And, after the fulltime whistle, the Hawks’ National League South status was confirmed.
