Jerry helps Tanners end on high

- By Chris Fowle

LEATHERHEAD ended their season with a win and a midtable finish that had looked unlikely weeks before.

Hindered by a points deduction for an ineligible player, Leatherhead had flirted with relegation.

But in the end they finished well clear of the drop and won with a 90th-minute goal from Jerry Nnamani.

Harlow Town started the match faster, with the ball mainly in Leatherhead’s half.

A free-kick went to the Tanners on six minutes after a foul on Charlie Moone. Kadell Daniel’s effort sailed over the bar.

Leatherhead’s Luke Moore then committed a bad challenge on Harlow’s Charlie Dickens who came back on after treatment.

Jerome Federico shot straight at Lee in the Harlow goal on 11 minutes after a good flowing move.

Harlow were awarded a penalty on 15 minutes and Alex Read scored from 12 yards.

Harlow took control of the match for the next quarter, looking dangerous when they came forward.

On 27 minutes Danny Murphy delivered a great ball through to Moone but he hit a poor shot.

Daniel took a good freekick on 41 minutes that was put out for a corner by Patrick Lee.

Leatherhead had a corner on 48 minutes and Daniel scored from it, the ball deceiving Lee, going over him into the top left corner of the net.

From a Harlow corner on 74 minutes, against the run of play, Ibrahima Sonko scored with a powerful header past Wells.

A smashing strike from substitute Nana BoakyeYiadom brought the scores level on 86 minutes.

Nnamani ensured Leatherhead took all three points after he scored on the 90th minute, putting the ball calmly past Lee.
