MARINE 5 BUXTON 5

- By Ralph Rands

AN incredible game featured no fewer than ten different players on the scoresheet on the final weekend.

In a relatively quiet opening, the Bucks took a two-goal lead through Luke Hinsley's header from a corner and Joe McGee's close-range finish following excellent play from Bradley Grayson.

Matty Hamilton’s poached effort after Jamie Menagh’s shot had struck the post halved the deficit.

Three goals in four minutes at the start of the second half saw Buxton further ahead, through Matty Williams, only for the Mariners to level courtesy of Menagh's clinical strike and James Foley's fine finish.

Buxton skipper Greg Young headed his side back in front on the hour, before Marine substitute Dean Shacklock’s flicked header from a near-post corner restored parity once more.

Bucks substitute Nicky Walker pounced with ten minutes remaining after veteran 'keeper Paul Phillips had failed to hold a low shot and looked to have won it for the Derbyshire club. But home skipper Danny Mitchley notched his 26th goal of the campaign to earn Marine a point in the 90th minute with a sharp turn and shot.
