HYDE FAIL TO FIND A WAY PAST HOSTS

- By Graeme Wilson

GOOLE and Hyde produced a typical end-of-season encounter in the final game of the season with nothing to play for.

The home side’s relegation was confirmed over the Easter period, and the in-form visitors failed to put their territorial advantage to good use.

Goole keeper Max Dearnley was certainly the busier of the two keepers and made impressive saves in both halves to deny the more lively Hyde side; his second-half save from a Matt Beadle header was worthy of particular mention.

The home side did have the odd half-chance including Sam Colbear’s two headers, one that was saved by Russ Saunders.
