NEVILLE LEAVES IT LATE TO DRAW

- By John Parkinson

OSSETT Town played out a draw at home to Trafford to round off their campaign.

They had a goal disallowed for offside on four minutes before Danny Ross shot wide.

The chances continued to flow but it remained goalless at half-time.

On 33 minutes, Jason Yates’ header was saved by Terry Smith and Ossett took the lead on 45 minutes when Tyrone Gay tapped in.

Alex Peterson wasn’t far away from giving Ossett a 2-0 lead and on 85 minutes Ross tried to lob Ossett keeper Smith but it went over.

And there was ultimately heartache for Ossett when Trafford equalised in stoppage time through Lee Neville.
