VISITORS HIT BACK TO TAKE A POINT

- By Stuart Hicks

BEDWORTH United survived more than 45 minutes with just ten men to end their season with a credible draw at Stocksbridge Park Steels.

Liam Cross’ campaign ended on a sour note for the visitors, picking up a straight red card just moments before half-time for violent conduct.

By then both sides had already found the back of the net – with a 1-1 scoreline the fair result.

Brodie Litchfield had put the hosts ahead after seven minutes, with their superior status in the league looking like it may prove dividends.

But Bedworth battled back to equalise through 40-year-old veteran Iyseden Christie showing his former Football League pedigree.
