OATES IS STAR AS BULLS GO ON A RUN
ACROWD of 4,125 saw Hereford complete their successful season with victory over Winchester.
They took the lead in the tenth minute when John Mills converted a penalty awarded for a foul on Mike Symons.
Shortly afterwards, Lewis Noice in the Winchester goal made a good save from Jimmy Oates, but on the half hour Jamie Edge made it 2-0.
In the first half, Winchester did hit the underside of the bar and forced successive corners without having any success.
Just before the hour, Hereford’s stand-out player, Jimmy Oates, headed home following a corner and shortly afterwards he put in a cross that no one could get on the end of.
Mills forced a good save from Noice and substitute Jamie Molineux also came close, but Hereford did make it 4-0 in the 81st minute when substitute Bradley Williams headed home.
Winchester kept battling to the end, but it was a day of celebration for the home team in front of their jubilant hordes.
