TOWN FIND A LATE LEVELLER

- By Ken Brazier

ENFIELD made the play-offs for the first time in their history by virtue of this hard earned point.

Leiston needed a win to join them and were very close to achieving their objective.

Home keeper Nathan McDonald grab the ball from the feet of Ade Cole and then cleared from the onrushing Matt Blake, who then headed over when well placed.

Town’s Billy Crook fired over, and Harry Ottaway and Tyler Campbell both set up Wynter who fired over.

A diving header from Wynter flew just wide from Campbell’s cross.

But in first-half stoppage time, Leiston’s Gareth Heath rose at the far post to guide a cross past McDonald.

After half-time, Cole fired over after a mistake and, for the hosts, Oliyide lost control at just the wrong time after rounding Leiston keeper Ashlee Jones.

With 15 minutes left, Blake spurned a great opportunity after McDonald had been sold short by an intercepted back pass from Ricky Gabriel.

But Town equalised, on 85 minutes, when one sub Samir Bihmoutine crossed for another, Bobby Devyne, who volleyed home from close range.
