NO FOND FAREWELL FOR THE MEAD

THAMESMEAD Town’s last game at Bayliss Avenue ended in defeat as Brentwood took the spoils in a typical end-of-season contest with little riding on it.

The visitors took the lead when Leon Gordon rolled the ball home, before Archie Johnson equalised with a low drive from the edge of the box.

Brentwood went back in front just after half-time as Lamar Reynolds scored what would prove to be the winner with a low effort that found the corner of the net.

Reynolds could have extended the visitors’ lead but was denied by Max Ovenden as the game fizzled out from there on out, with both teams seemingly dreaming of their summer holidays.
