SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS

- CHRIS MITCHELL

LONDON COLNEY picked up the Premier Division trophy after only their second home defeat of the season, a 3-2 loss to Wembley.

Top scorer Jon Clements scored his 38th goal of the season and Archie McClelland got the other for the champions, but it did not stop Wembley coming from behind to record a fine win.

Cockfosters’ third place is the highest finish in the club’s history and they celebrated with a 3-0 win at bottom side FC Broxbourne Borough. Ben Andreos was the star of the show, netting all three of his side’s goals.

At the foot of the table, St Margaretsbury’s 3-2 loss at Stotfold leaves them needing a point to be safe from relegation. Mark Ellis’ late goal earned Stotfold the win.

Hadley are also a point from safety after they won 3-1 at home to in-form Welwyn Garden City, with Ibrahim Lukulay scoring twice.

Berkhamsted’s aspirations of a topsix finish suffered a blow as they lost 3-0 at Leighton Town and Tring Athletic beat Crawley Green 2-1,

Elsewhere, Sun Sports drew 2-2 at home to Leverstock Green, with Jonathan Lacey and sub Ross Adams on target for the visitors, Chris Blunden netted the only goal of the game as Oxhey Jets beat Holmer Green and Colney Heath drew 2-2 at home to Edgware Town.
