COWES SPORTS will be playing Premier Division football next season after a 1-0 win in a relegation sixpointer with Amesbury Town on the league’s final day.

A Finlay Jordan header from six yards out late in the second half gave the Islanders a massive three points at Westwood Park to keep them up.

The result, along with Fawley’s win over Brockenhurst, confirmed relegation for Whitchurch United and Amesbury Town.

The title is yet to be decided as both Moneyfields and Portland United won, meaning if Moneyfields are deducted points at an FA hearing this week, Portland will be crowned champions.

Tom Prodomo bowed out with defeat as Bashley manager, in a 3-1 reverse at Horndean. Prodomo, who will be taking up at coaching role under Mark Molesley’s regime at Weymouth next season, saw his Bash side condemned to defeat with Mark Smith scoring a hat-trick for the Deans. Fareham Town finished their season on a high following a remarkable late run that has seen them go from bottom of the league to finish 12th in just three months. They were 3-1 winners against Blackfield & Langley yesterday.

And Alex Baldacchino bagged a final day brace for AFC Portchester as they won 4-1 at Verwood Town.
