KAIYNE’S ALWAYS ABLE TO DELIVER

-

FOREST GREEN’S two-goal hero Kaiyne Woolery knew he would score at Wembley – he dreamt it the night before!

The rapid attacker was clutching the man of the match bottle of champagne as he walked through Wembley’s mixed zone on Sunday evening.

His first-half double helping Forest Green Rovers into the Football League for the first time in the club’s history.

Although technically the 22-year-old, on loan from Wigan Athletic, was only two-thirds right.

“I actually dreamt I’d score a hat-trick today,” Woolery said. “I didn’t think it would come true, but I’m delighted.

“I’m more happy that the boys played well and we got promoted. “Some people only get one chance to play at Wembley, this might be the last time I play here, so I’m happy we all took that chance.”

Woolery began his career with Maidstone United, but was at Tamworth when he was spotted by Bolton Wanderers.

He played for the Trotters in the Championship before moving to Wigan Athletic last August and moving on loan to Forest Green in January.

He’s scored two goals in the regular season, but doubled his tally in a green and black shirt when it mattered most, under Wembley’s arch.

“It’s undoubtedly the best moment of my career so far,” he said.
