BLUES TO MARK BIG UPGRADE
IPSWICH Town will be sending an Under-23s team to play at the official opening of Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties Premier Division runners-up Felixstowe & Walton United’s £530,000 redevelopment of their Goldstar Ground.
The official opening ceremony will take place before the game on Saturday, July 8, which kicks off at 4pm.
At 2pm, former Ipswich chairman David Sheepshanks will unveil a plaque marking the occasion.
The ground upgrade includes a new pitchside clubhouse with six changing rooms, a hospitality area, a large function room, spectator toilets, a bar and kitchen and a club shop.
There is also a new turnstile block and hardstanding pitch surrounds.
Meanwhile, former Felixstowe Harpers manager Ian Watson has stepped up to become the team’s joint boss alongside Kevin O’Donnell.
