REDDITCH UNITED 1 BIGGLESWADE TOWN 0

- By Paul Jenkins

REDDITCH won this battle to go second in the Southern Premier and maintain their 100-per cent record at the Trico Stadium.

It was a closely fought affair but a goal on the half hour by the impressive Dior Angus ultimately bagged the valuable three points.

Angus was dangerous throughout the first half and almost gave the home side the lead on only one minute when his crosscum-shot from the right hit the top of the bar.

A minute later he exchanged passes with Spencer Weir-Daley who crossed for Angus to seemingly tap the ball into the net but he put it wide.

The visitors were not without chances, Tony Burnett shooting against the legs of keeper Ethan Ross and Reece Fielding putting a free header from a corner straight at him.

But Angus got the goal his efforts deserved when he headed home another excellent cross.

Andi Thanoj put two shots just over for Redditch before the break.

Biggleswade had the best of the chances in the second half but lacked a cutting edge, although Daniel Jarvis thought he had equalised on 55 minutes but his goal was disallowed for offside.

Graeme Montgomery crossed for Connor Hall to head over, Gavin Hayes put a shot wide when it was easier to score and Lucas Perry saw a corner hit the bar, but Redditch held on.
