JOSEPH SHOW HELPS GREENS

- By David Ballheimer

HENDON eased through to the second round qualifying of the FA Trophy.

The first clear chance fell to Langley in the ninth minute when Calum Adebiyi headed wide from a corner.

Hendon opened the scoring in the 17th minute. Zak Joseph was the creator with a neat run and pass which set up Niko Muir who finished.

Eleven minutes later Muir was the provider, riding three challenges before passing to Matt Ball who drilled home.

Four minutes later, King’s Langley were back in the game when Kieran Turner’s cross was headed home by Adebiyi.

The Hendon response was immediate, and it was another header, this time Dave Diedhiou, who directed the ball off the base of the post following a cross by Darren Uchechi.

Hendon took the sting out of the game and allowed King’s Langley plenty of possession, but not anywhere near the danger areas.

In fact, the two best chances of the second half both went Hendon’s way. The first was a shot from Ashley NathanielGeorge. Then Ball had an effort which went narrowly wide.

For all of King’s Langley’s efforts, they found it impossible to get the better of Rian Bray and Arthur Lee. STAR MAN: Zak Joseph (Hendon) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
