TRIBUTES TO BURROWS

-

A PLAYER who scored one of the fastest-ever goals in the game has been honoured by Wessex outfit Christchurch eight years after he died.

Former Christchurch, Eastleigh and Portsmouth player Marc Burrows made headlines in 2004 when he scored after only TWO seconds when playing for Cowes Sports Reserves against Eastleigh.

The popular player was just 30 when he died from pancreatic cancer in February 2009.

The Hurn Bridge club have now named their new changing rooms in his honour, with president Dawn Page cutting the ribbon, as well as the managers’ room, a medical room and a kit-laundering area.
