HUNN HUNT IS OVER YOU HAVER-GO, PETER

POWER TOWER

-

SACKED Huntingdon Town joint manager Ryan Hunnings immediately found himself a new job with struggling United Counties Division One rivals Oakham United.

Hunnings, who previously ran Langtoft United, was given his marching orders from Jubilee Park after Huntingdon officials decided that his partnership with Jim Brattan was not working.

Hunnings was then appointed as assistant to new Oakham boss Joe Featherstone, who previously managed Woodford United and who has coached at Stratford Town and in France.

Second-bottom Oakham lost eight games in a row, including a 9-0 defeat by Blackstones and a 12-1 cup exit by NKF Burbage.

HAVERHILL Rovers have placed coaching coordinator Peter Betts in charge of the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties Premier side after assistant boss Rod Gaffan quit.

Manager Ben Cowling is absent while recovering from hip replacement surgery and so Haverhill were left with just Betts to take the helm.

Gaffan who previously managed local sides Hundon and West Wratting and Haverhill Borough Reserves, said he felt that the club was going in a different direction but had left on good terms.

He said: “You give so much of your time and energy for absolutely nothing when you’re managing at this level and you can become disillusioned.”
