MORPETH TOWN continued their unbeaten run at home with a 1-0 win against Shildon, who lost for the first time on the road this season.

Liam Henderson scored the only goal in the top-three clash as the Railwaymen went down to ten.

Newcastle Benfield defeated North Shields 2-1, while high-flying Marske United were amongst the goals as they brushed aside Consett 5-1 and Seaham Red Star came from behind to defeat Sunderland RCA 4-3.

Guisboroug­h defeated Washington 4-0 with Nathan Steel netting from the spot and Louis Goldsack, Mark Robinson and Mason McNeil also on target.

Whitley Bay drew 1-1 with Bishop Auckland – Liam Brooks’ 90th-minute equaliser salvaging a point for Bay.

West Auckland Town made light work of Billingham Synthonia,with help from a Paul Connor hat-trick.

NORTH WEST COUNTIES

RUNCORN LINNETS romped to a 7-0 victory over West Didsbury & Chorlton with hat-trick hero Paul Shanley leading the way.

But they still trail neighbours and league leaders Runcorn Town by six points following their 3-2 win at Irlam.

Dan Cope scored both goals for Hanley Town in a 2-0 win at home to Burscough, while a Peter Watling strike was enough to give Abbey Hey a 1-0 win at Charnock Richard.

AFC Darwen and Winsford United drew 0-0 and City of Liverpool came from behind to draw 1-1 with visitors AFC Liverpool.

Squires Gate picked up a vital three points as they saw off Ashton Athletic 3-1 – Jack Williams, Tarren Moxon and Tyler Atack with the hosts’ goals.

And hosts Widnes beat Bootle 3-2, William Webb bagging the winner.

NORTHERN COUNTIES EAST

LYNTON KARKACH scored an 87thminute winner as AFC Mansfield edged their top of the table clash at Pickering Town 3-2.

A Matt Wilson goal had handed the visitors an interval lead only for Ed Cass and Ryan Blott to reply for the hosts. Craig Mitchell was also on target for Mansfield, who moved up to third.

Leaders Handsworth Parramore won 3-2 at home to Albion Sports, Jonathan Froggatt scoring twice, while Pontefract Collieries remain a point behind after mauling Harrogate RA 6-1.

Richard Collier scored two for Hemsworth MW in their 5-1 defeat of Liversedge, while a last-minute effort from Kieran Ryan gave Penistone Church the win at home to Maltby Main.

Basement boys Clipstone lost 2-1 at Bridlingto­n Town, Hall Road Rangers were 4-0 winners at home to Worksop Town, Rainworth MW won 2-0 at Parkgate and Athersley Recreation drew 2-2 at Thackley. DAVID LAWRENCE

A DOUBLE from Matt Long saw Cogenhoe United defeat visitors Wellingbor­ough Whitworth 2-1.

James Hill-Seeks scored Peterborou­gh Northern Star’s 87th-minute winner in a 2-1 home win over St Andrews.

Dan Flack and Michael Simpson netted second-half goals to give Deeping Rangers a 2-1 win at Harborough Town.

Goals from Alex Beck and Billy Smith earned Wisbech Town a 2-0 home win over Desborough Town.

Newport Pagnell Town beat visitors Yaxley 2-1 thanks to goals from Adam Pryke and Fazel Koriya, while Aidan Smith scored for Rothwell Corinthian­s as they beat visitors Northampto­n ON Chenecks 1-0.

An 86th-minute leveller from Shaquille Master earned leaders Leicester Nirvana a 1-1 draw at home to Holbeach United, despite being reduced to ten.

Three goals in the last 20 minutes, two from Ibby Akambi and one from Harrison Winters, saw hosts Northampto­n Sileby Rangers draw 33 from 3-0 down against Sleaford Town, while bottom club Oadby Town drew 1-1 at Wellingbor­ough Town.

MIDLAND LEAGUE

GOALS GALORE were scored in the Premier Division yesterday, with leaders Coleshill Town romping to a 5-0 win at Long Eaton United, where Jordan Nadat helped himself to a hat-trick.

And experience­d Marcus Tudgay netted a treble for South Normanton Athletic, but it was not enough to stop his side from losing 4-3 at Loughborou­gh University – Alex Reid with the winner.

Shepshed Dynamo were 4-3 winners at Shawbury United and Rocester won 3-2 at Rugby Town – Martin Smyth with the injury-time decider.

Lee Hughes bagged both Worcester City goals in their 2-0 defeat of Haughmond and Sporting Khalsa defeated Coventry United 3-0.

High-fliers Bromsgrove Sporting lost 3-1 at Highgate United and Ryan Nesbitt’s hat-trick helped Boldmere St Michaels beat AFC Wulfrunian­s by the same margin. Elsewhere, there were wins for Coventry Sphinx, Heanor Town and Stourport Swifts.

ESSEX SENIOR LEAGUE

THE TOP SIX all won to open up a gap on the chasing pack after all of them won.

Basildon United stay top after a hattrick from Marcus Bowers and double from Luke Hornsley gave them a 5-1 win over Sporting Bengal United.

Second-placed Takeley were even more comprehens­ive winners, routing Barkingsid­e 7-0, with Carl Mullings celebratin­g his debut with four goals.

FC Romania were 2-1 winners over Southend Manor and it was the same score for Redbridge at Hackney Wick.

Clapton enjoyed a 2-0 victory at Hullbridge Sports, while Great Wakering Rovers beat the team immediatel­y below them, West Essex, 3-1.

Tower Hamlets beat Burnham Ramblers 1-0, while Enfield 1893 moved away from the bottom group by hammering Woodford Town (2017) 5-1.

At the bottom, Wadham Lodge drew 1-1 with Sawbridgew­orth Town to move level on points with co-hosts Waltham Forest, who lost 3-1 at Ilford.

STOWMARKET TOWN were 4-0 winners at struggling Fakenham Town, with Ollie Brown, Luke Read and Josh Mayhew all on target.

Sub Ben Newson grabbed a 73rdminute winner for third-placed Brantham Athletic as they secured a 3-2 victory over Wroxham and Coggeshall Town remain fourth after a 3-1 away success against Long Melford.

Bottom side Wivenhoe Town suffered a crushing 6-0 loss at Thetford Town, with Tanner Call hitting a hat-trick, while Jake Plane struck twice for FC Clacton as they beat Saffron Walden Town 3-1 at home and Ipswich Wanderers stay in the drop zone after a 3-2 loss to Ely City.

Kirkley & Pakefield were held to a thrilling 4-4 draw at home by Newmarket Town and Matt Allan bagged a brace for Godmanches­ter Rovers in a 2-1 victory at Walsham-le-Willows.

SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS

THE TOP TWO both dropped points this weekend as Welwyn Garden City lost their unbeaten run in a 1-0 loss at Biggleswad­e FC and Berkhamste­d drew 1-1 at Crawley Green.

The game started poorly for the Citizens with an eighth-minute red for John McGrandles and then George Riley netted game’s only goal just a minute later.

The Comrades dominated at Crawley Green but only drew 1-1 after conceding a goal in the last minute. Jon Munday rewarded the visitors’ early dominance but Berkhamste­d could not net another.

Leverstock Green produced one of the performanc­es of the day as they beat London Tigers 3-0. Ross Adams well-worked early goal was added to by strikes from both Matt Bateman and Jonathan Lacey.

Elsewhere, Abraham Eze scored for Biggleswad­e United as they drew 1-1 at home to Edgware Town and Elliot Goward scored Tring Athletic’s goals in a 2-0 win against St Margaretsb­ury.

THE TOP FOUR all won as 50 goals were scored from 11 Premier Division fixtures.

Westfield won 3-1 at Spelthorne Sports, who started the day in sixth.

Bedfont Sports cemented second thanks to a 7-0 demolition of basement boys visitors Epsom & Ewell – Scott Harris leading the way with a hat-trick inside the opening 22 minutes.

Third-placed Walton & Hersham won 2-0 at midtable CB Hounslow United and Sutton Common Rovers still fill fourth after a thrilling 4-3 victory at midtable North Greenford United.

Hosts Hanworth Villa went fifth after edging a 5-4 epic with Guildford City.

Hosts Horley Town slipped a place to sixth after a shock 5-0 drubbing by lowly Abbey Rangers.

Camberley Town beat visitors Chertsey Town 2-1, Redhill lost 2-0 at Balham, while hosts Knaphill pipped Colliers Wood United 3-2.

AFC Hayes lost 2-0 at Banstead Athletic thanks to goals by Alfie Arthur and Martin Smith and Farnham Town won 3-1 at second-bottom Godalming Town.

HAYWARDS HEATH TOWN are the new league leaders after a late own goal handed them a 2-1 home win over third-placed Chichester City.

Pre-match leaders Peacehaven & Telscombe dropped to second after drawing 1-1 at Lancing and Liam Baitup netted two as fourth-placed Eastbourne Town secured a 3-0 victory against struggling Arundel.

Littlehamp­ton Town climbed off the bottom with a 3-3 draw at Eastbourne United AFC and AFC Uckfield Town stay in the drop zone after suffering a 4-1 loss away to Broadbridg­e Heath.

Saltdean United, in fifth, lost 1-0 at home to Loxwood and Horsham YMCA triumphed 1-0 at Newhaven.

Hayden Hunter and Jack Barnes were East Preston’s scorers in a 2-0 home win over Crawley Down Gatwick and Pagham against Hassocks ended 0-0.

HELLENIC LEAGUE

HIGHWORTH TOWN reignited the blue touchpaper under their title bid by beating Brimscombe & Thrupp 4-0.

|After a recent wobble, the leaders returned to winning ways at home, making it 14 wins from 15 league games.

A 110-strong crowd saw Callum Parsons’ late brace clinch success, after Aaron Ferris and Ash Edenboroug­h goals.

Brilliant Bracknell Town climbed one place to second thanks to an emphatic 7-0 win at second-bottom Burnham.

Thatcham Town jumped to third with a 2-1 win at third-bottom Ascot United thanks to Shane Cooper-Clark’s brace.

Wantage Town moved to fourth after a 3-1 win at bottom club Fairford Town, Flackwell Heath fell from second to fifth after drawing 1-1 at midtable Binfield, while hosts Royal Wootton Bassett Town beat Longlevens.
