FIREWORKS NIGHT exploded early, as on Friday clear leaders Plymouth Parkway were on the end of a rocket from hosts Camelford, who beat them 1-0.

The shock result ended a perfect, record-breaking 15 straight league wins for Parkway this season and meant Camels climbed out of the drop zone, going third-bottom. Non-playing Plymouth Argyle stay second, eight points adrift of their rivals.

Reigning champions Tavistock stay third after being held surprisingly to a 0-0 draw by second-bottom visitors Callington Town and Saltash United fill fourth after a 4-2 win at Ivybridge Town.

Fifth-placed Falmouth Town drew 0-0 in a dour affair at Launceston, in sixth.

Newquay remain seventh despite a 1-0 loss at Stoke Gabriel, while hosts Exmouth Town triumphed 3-0 against Torpoint Athletic and Helston Athletic drew 2-2 at Cullompton Rangers.

St Austell enjoyed an emphatic 5-1 win at pointless basement boys Witheridge and hosts Bodmin Town moved up two spots with a 1-0 home win over lowly Sticker.

DAVID GROVES TEVERSAL enjoyed a relaxing Saturday afternoon, having done their work the previous night in a topof-the-table clash at Holbrook Sports. Dave Cockerill’s goal saw Teversal summit the league, where they remain, as rivals Blaby & Whetstone and Anstey Nomads saw their games postponed, as did Ashby Ivanhoe and Arnold Town.

The only blemish on a near-perfect weekend was Josh Radford’s dismissal for two yellow cards.

Gedling Miners Welfare saw their title bid falter in a 3-1 defeat at Barrow Town, while Selston’s ten-match unbeaten run was ended at the hands of Stapenhill, who won 2-1 thanks to Niall Dawkins and Steve Dennahy’s goals.

Holwell Sports won the basement battle with Radcliffe Olympic 3-0, while a flurry of late goals saw Graham Street Prims draw 2-2 at Birstall and in the other Friday night fixture Belper United won 2-0 at Borrowash Victoria.
