SOLIHULL MOORS WYCOMBE WANDERERS

-

IT’S been a week of turbulence off the field but Solihull Moors are hoping to get things back on track as they search for an upset today. The National League strugglers host League Two Wycombe Wanderers this afternoon after manager Richard Money resigned from his role just 26 days after accepting the position. Money’s assistant Gary Whild will take the hotseat today, with coach Keith Bertschin and director of sport Mark Fogarty helping him in the dugout. And for Moors defender Kristian Green, this afternoon offers him the chance of redemption, having lost out to the Chairboys at the third round stage last season when part of the Stourbridge squad. Green, 26, told the Solihull Moors website: “I’m looking forward to it a lot. I’ve got previous history of the FA Cup with Stourbridge, got to the second round against Eastleigh and most recently got to the third round last year at Wycombe away so it’s kind of a part two for me. “It was an amazing experience. Getting to the first round of the FA Cup is amazing but to get to the third round with a team like Stourbridge from that level – we had to win a lot of games to get to the third round, so that journey was incredible and especially with all the media attention as well. “I’m not necessarily looking for revenge but hopefully we can get a result, especially with it being at home I think we’ve got every chance of doing it. “It’s a break from the National League so we’ve got no pressure and nothing to fear. We’re underdogs and that’s an even better thing in our favour – we can go out there, play with freedom and enjoy the occasion.”
