BOSS PAUL HOLLERS AT ‘GRUDGE’ OF REF KIRK

-

FURIOUS Paul Holleran has requested that his Leamington side are not officiated by referee Thomas Kirk again this season after criticising his performance in last week’s clash with Boston United.

Holleran hit out after the Brakes had three strong penalty appeals turned down, while conceding a controversial spot kick of their own, as they surrendered their seven-match unbeaten run to the relegation-threatened Pilgrims.

And while the boss conceded the defeat wasn’t solely attributed to the performance of Mr Kirk, he believes a personal grudge with a couple of his players may have contributed to his side’s downfall.

“We've had him before, he's a young boy and he takes things personally,” Holleran said. “He seems to have taken a dislike to one or two of our players. Our players have got to be better at managing him but I do get the impression he has some kind of issue with us.

“With the cautions we got, the decisions that went against us, the decisions we didn’t get, it certainly seemed to be that way. He doesn't manage players well and we have asked not to have him.

“But listen, the referee has nothing to do with us defending poorly and Tony (Breeden) missing a cross.” Experienced Dorchester Town striker Rory Fallon has been included in New Zealand's squad for their World Cup play-offs.

The 35-year-old former Swansea City, Plymouth Argyle and Swindon Town man is a shock inclusion in Anthony Hudson's side that face a two-legged playoff against Peru for a place at next year's finals in Russia.

Fallon etched his name in All Whites folklore in 2009 when he scored the only goal in a play-off against Bahrain to send New Zealand to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

His last appearance for his country, however, was as a substitute against Mexico in a friendly in the United States in October last year. Fans favourite Tom Bolarinwa is back at Sutton United after returning to Gander Green Lane on loan from Grimsby Town.

Bolarinwa scored 11 goals as the U's won the National League South before earning a summer move to Grimsby, for whom he has played over 30 games.

And in a double swoop from boss Paul Doswell, Bolainwa is joined by AFC Wimbledon midfielder Alfie Egan, 20, who also arrives on loan. Billericay Town have further increased their squad with the arrival of former Arsenal and Southend United striker Sanchez Watt.

The 26-year-old has been training with the bigspending Blues but has only initially signed for two games.
