LOOK WARE I AM NOW!
Boss Edwards is back in business
CRAIG EDWARDS is back in the manager’s hotseat – at Bostik North strugglers Ware.
The former Billericay Town and Kingstonian boss has arrived at Wodson Park this week as a replacement for Kem Kemal, who stepped down from his second spell at the club after a run of just one win from 13 matches.
Kemal twice saved the Blues from relegation including last season when four wins from the last five matches earned the club a relegation reprieve.
That raised expectations for this season and after five wins from the opening nine matches, the club looked to have turned a corner.
But the 13-game winless run has seen the Blues plummet down the table to 21st before yesterday’s postponed visit of Aveley.
After spells in charge of Chelmsford City and Grays Athletic, Edwards spent seven years as Billericay before leaving the club at the start of the season in the wake of the Glenn Tamplin takeover.
He then joined Kingstonian and led them to seventh in the Bostik Premier table before surprisingly stepping down in October due to a disagreement with club chiefs over budget cuts.
Now he is faced with a different job altogether in steering the Hertfordshire club up the table and first must arrest a club-equalling record six-match run without scoring a goal.
