POMPEY AIM TO IRON OUT A JOE MOVE
PORTSMOUTH are planning a New Year raid for talented Kidderminster Harriers striker Joe Ironside.
The League One side have already delved into the NonLeague ranks to land Oli Hawkins from Dagenham and Hampton & Richmond Borough pair Jamal Lowe and Nicke Kabamba.
Now boss Kenny Jackett is eyeing a move for former Sheffield United youngster Ironside, who has fired 15 league goals for National League North promotion seekers Kidderminster this term since moving from Nuneaton Town in the summer.
Pompey have been regular visitors to Aggborough to keep tabs on the 24-year-old England C striker, but they face competition from League One rivals Fleetwood Town plus League Two pair Mansfield Town and Cambridge United. WEALDSTONE have bagged themselves as early Christmas present after signing hotshot David Pratt from National League South rivals Chippenham Town.
The 30-year-old striker is well known to Stones fans from his time at Bath City where he scored 50 goals in 125 appearances for the Romans.
Pratt returned for a second spell at Chippenham and continued where he left off, scoring 22 goals in the Bluebirds’ promotion season from the Evo-Stik Southern Premier and then nine goals so far this term.
Stones manager Bobby Wilkinson said: “I am very pleased to have brought in a very talented and experienced centre forward with a goalscoring pedigree wherever he has played. We said we would bring in such a signing and I believe David is the right guy.” NUNEATON Town have let experienced centre-back Exodus Geohaghon join Halesowen Town – the 22nd club of his career! The 32-year-old, known for his 6ft 5in frame and long throw, joins his third club this season alone having also turned out for Borough and Step 5 Worcester City so far this term. Geohaghon started his career at Sutton Coldfield Town in 2000 and spent five years with the Royals before enjoying spells at Bromsgrove Rovers and Redditch United. A move to Kettering Town helped launch his Football League career where spells at Peterborough United (loan), Rotherham United, Shrewsbury Town, Port Vale, Barnet, Dagenham & Redbridge and Mansfield Town followed.
Since dropping back down into Non-League, Geohaghon has served the likes of Kidderminster, Worcester, Braintree Town, Solihull Moors, Whitehawk, Stourbridge and Torquay United. MERTHYR TOWN duo Curtis McDonald and Robbie Patten have both been given the green light to join National League South side Chippenham Town.
The Welsh pair both received international clearance to turn out for the Bluebirds after leaving the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Martyrs in the midst of recent off-the-field problems.
McDonald, 29, started his career at Cardiff City in 2006, before going on to play for Forest Green, Polish side MKS Swit, Carmarthen Town and Brackley Town, where he made 75 appearances.
Patten, a 20-year-old central midfielder, trialled with Cambridge United in the summer.
