HARROW UNDONE BY MIDSON
HARROW’S spiral down the table continued as two goals early in the second half enabled the Tanners to grab the three points.
An even first half featured no more than half-chances at each end.
Harrow cleared two Leatherhead efforts off the line in the opening minutes, with Borough’s George Moore and Sahr Kabba denied by a block and a save respectively.
Turning round to face the wind, Leatherhead introduced the experienced Jack Midson, and they went ahead after 53 minutes.
A break on the left led to a shot that seemed to be going wide of the far post.
But Niall McManus was following in and turned the ball into the net.
Having lost the last three games, including a thumping by Hendon on Boxing Day, Harrow felt their confidence immediately disappearing.
Four minutes later, Midson rose at the near post to head in the second Leatherhead goal from a corner.
Melvin Minter saved well from McManus, before Harrow got a lifeline when Ryan Moss charged down a Zaki Oualah clearance, the ball rebounding into the net.
Some late home pressure was too little, too late.
Tanners defended well and Borough boss Steve Baker, now overseeing a third dreadful run by his side in 2017, must feel under severe pressure.
