GRANTHAM TOWN 2 FARSLEY CELTIC 2

- By Pat Nixon

IT ENDED all-square at Grantham as the sides shared four goals.

After an even opening Grantham took the lead on five minutes when Curtis Burrows drove home.

Grantham continued to press and doubled their lead on 15 minutes when Jordan Hempenstall converted a Lee Shaw cross.

Both Danny Ellis and Paul Walker saw shots go over for Farsley before they got back into the game on 26 minutes when Danny Ellis turned in a cross from the right.

Farsley levelled the scores on 34 minutes when after a spell of sustained pressure Adam Clayton netted following a goalline scramble.

The half ended with Farsley keeper McKibbin saving from Lee Shaw and for Grantham Kieran Preston from Paul Walker.

Farsley had a chance on 56 minutes but Nathan Turner shot over and Isaac Baldwin headed wide before Lee Shaw had a chance for Grantham but his shot went wide.

Preston kept the scores level with a fine save from Ellis. Farsley were moving the ball well but Grantham’s defence held firm. Both sides were looking for a winning goal and play swung from end to end.

Preston twice made good saves from Danny Ellis and Ben Atkinson fired over when well placed. Grantham ended the game strongly but couldn’t find a winner. STAR MAN: Kieran Preston (Grantham) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
