STRUGGLING TIGERS CLAW BACK
GLOUCESTER City twice battled back having conceded from errors to grind out a draw against relegation rivals Poole.
Goalkeeper James Hamon, on loan from Exeter City, made a hash of a clearance which dropped straight to Warren Bentley to score for the Dolphins 15 minutes in.
City immediately responded as Chris Knowles converted after a Kieran Thomas corner had been flicked on by Robbie Cundy, restoring parity within four minutes of the opener.
Poole forced a fine stop from Hamon, who tipped away just before the half-hour mark, and Richard Gillespie fired off target when well placed prior to the first-half petering out.
Gloucester began the second half much as they had the first when defender Lewis Hall’s pass back evaded Hamon and found its way into the net.
But then another own-goal got the home side back on level terms as a goal-mouth scramble deflected in off Bristol Rovers prospect Jordan Alawode-Williams.
Hamon had to hack away with ten minutes to play and while both teams were geared up for a late push, the rain played its part as conditions became troublesome.
In the end, Gloucester had to make do with a draw that keeps them in the relegation zone, a point behind Chippenham who were leapfrogged by Poole who are now fifth from bottom.
