- By Jay Bayford

THE New Saints’ five-game winning run came to an end as they were held to a 2-2 draw at Cefn

Druids in the top tier of the Welsh Premier.

Connell Rawlinson put the leaders ahead but Alec Mudimu hit back for the Druids.

Scott Ruscoe’s men got themselves back in front thanks to another Rawlinson goal but Arek Piskorski struck to claim a welldeserved point. Connah’s Quay Nomads couldn’t close the 12-point gap at the top as they drew 1-1 with Bala Town.

In-form Michael Bakare gave Connah’s Quay the lead but exNomad Lewis Short equalised to deny his former side the victory.

Meanwhile, Bangor City moved second after beating

Cardiff Met 3-0 with Gary Taylor-Fletcher, Anthony Miley and Dean Rittenburg all on target. In the bottom tier, Carmarthen Town moved off the foot of the table with a 3-1 win over fellow strugglers Prestatyn Town.

Michael Parker gave Prestatyn the lead but a double from Mark Jones and a single Luke Bowen strike helped the Old Gold to a rare victory.

Llandudno and Newtown played out a seven-goal thriller, with the Seasiders snatching a 4-3 win.

Robbie Parry, Danny Shaw and Toby Jones scored for ‘Dudno but a double from Nick Rushton and strikes from Kieran Mills-Evans and Neil Mitchell handed the points to Newtown.

Llandudno’s Lee Thomas and Newtown’s Dave Jones both saw red in the dying minutes following a on-pitch brawl.

Elsewhere, debutant Jon Hood helped Barry Town United to a 3-1 victory over Aberystwyth

Town with Jordan Cotterill and Kayne McLaggon also on target.

Declan Walker claimed an acrobatic consolation with a scissor kick. In Welsh League Division One,

Haverfordwest County suffered a shock 3-2 defeat to lowly Briton Ferry Llansawel.

The leaders were aiming to extend their one-point lead over Llanelli Town, whose game at

Port Talbot Town was postponed due to floodlight failure, but they fell to their second league defeat of the season.

Gareth Jones, Steve Jones and Tyler Brock were all on the scoresheet for Briton Ferry, although the latter saw red on 77 minutes.

But County were unable to add to goals from Sean Pemberton and Dan Williams as they slipped up.

With the top two failing to claim any points, Afan Lido moved four points off the top with a 4-0 win over Goytre.

Sean Hanbury, Liam McCreesh, Cai Owens and Jack Todd were all on target for Lido.
