REDDITCH UNITED 2 HITCHIN TOWN 2

- By Colin Stoner

DEFENDER Lewis Rolfe grabbed a late equaliser for Hitchin to deny tenman Redditch their first win in six.

Despite having youngster Jordan Miles sent off early in the second half, the Reds moved 2-1 ahead through Stuart Fleetwood’s impressive finish.

But as Hitchin cranked up the pressure they got their reward five minutes from time when sub Patrick Tshikala’s effort was deflected and Rolfe lashed home.

There was still time for both sides to snatch a winner, but Hitchin skipper Dan Webb’s header bounced inches wide and Fleetwood was crowded out.

Redditch had struck with their first real chance on 14 minutes, thanks to debutant Adam Davie.

But the hosts started the second half in disastrous fashion.

A handball decision from referee Scott Postin led to a penalty two minutes after the break and Lucas Fitzpatrick drilled home the spot-kick.

Then on 53 minutes Postin again infuriated the home side when he showed a straight red card to young full-back Miles after his late challenge.

Hitchin looked the likely winners Connor Vincent blazing over - but the Reds regained the lead on 74 minutes when Danny Jackman’s free-kick was only cleared to the edge and Fleetwood smashed home his ninth goal since joining the club. STAR MAN: Adam Page (Redditch) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
