IT’S NOT HOLIDAY TIME JUST YET
DON’T BOOK your summer holidays just yet! That’s the message from England C boss Paul Fairclough.
Non-League’s Three Lions are fresh from a thrilling 3-2 win against Wales C in Barry where Dagenham & Redbridge striker Fejiri Okenabirhie scored a hat-trick.
Up next are trips to Ireland and Estonia as Fairclough’s team look to end the season with a bang.
They will travel to Dublin for a match on Sunday May 27 against a Republic of Ireland side preparing for the upcoming UEFA Regions’ Cup.
Then, a week later, they will be in Rakvere to face Estonia U21s on Monday, June 4.
Fairclough was hugely buoyed by England’s performance against Wales but he’s sent a reminder out that the door isn’t closed on any eligible players.
“The performance against Wales, particularly in the first half was excellent – some of the best we’ve played,” Fairclough said. “As always after games, we held a debrief and the players came up with what they felt they did well and can do better next time.
“I hope they will all want to be involved again, especially those who had their first taste with England C, but there are always opportunities for new faces.
“My scouts are out at games for the rest of the season and we will be watching everyone closely – there are lots of players on our radar. The door isn’t closed on anybody.”
