TRANMERE R v SOLIHULL MOORS

-

TRANMERE chairman Mark Palios says he’s filed a complaint to the National League to ask why they were scheduled away at Dover on Good Friday.

The game was postponed with the team just minutes from the ground and Palios wasn’t impressed.

He tweeted: “I don’t do tweets but I have just put a complaint into the National League about the ludicrous nature of arranging such a distant fixture on a Bank Holiday and total lack of thought for our travelling fans re no pitch inspection.

“Here’s another: fans are the lifeblood of our game. Authorities and clubs disrespect them at your peril.”

Micky Mellon’s side slipped to fifth in the table having had their feet up and welcome a Solihull Moors side able to get out of the relegation zone with a win and other results going their way.

Boss Mark Yates wants them to spoil Tranmere’s day and keep up their own escape hopes.

He said: “Tranmere made a long trip down to Dover and haven’t played, so my players are aware of it. They know that they’re going to be fresher than we are. I’d rather tell them that now so that they’re prepared for it.

“We’ve got to do everything right between now and three o’clock on Monday afternoon to go up there and cause an upset.

“Everyone will be expecting that it’s three points to them, we’ve got to make sure that doesn’t happen.”
