DRAGONS READY TO CASH IN!

WREXHAM v BOREHAM WOOD

- By Matt Badcock

ANDY DAVIES admits Wrexham will have to win their remaining games if they’re to scoop the title.

Friday’s draw with tenman Bromley saw them slip ten points behind leaders Macclesfield and four behind second-place Sutton United, who have a game in hand.

While accepting finishing in the top three is the big priority, the Welsh side aren’t giving up hope of toppling the pair. And Davies says tomorrow’s clash with promotion rivals Boreham Wood is a big one.

“While the points are still there for grabs, the opportunity is still there,” he said, when asked about winning the league.

“Obviously dropping two points against Bromley does make it more difficult but we’ll keep going to get as many points on the board as possible.

“Monday is a really important game for us against a team that is around us in the play-offs and we’ll make sure we are prepared for that. We’re at home, we’ve got a decent record and we’ll be trying to preserve that.

“I think you do have to take maximum points, that’s the aim in every game. I think that’s what it would take to go and win the league now. Since beating Tranmere 2-1, Boreham Wood were beaten by Aldershot Town before being held to a goalless draw against Barrow on Friday.

And boss Luke Garrard is looking for his side to have high-energy at the Racecourse.

He said: “Defensively they are very strong, so they are organised on setplays and they are organised on balls into the box.

“I think that they have got great personnel across the board, in terms of the wide boys, and the two strikers up top; Chris Holroyd I think is up there in the goal scoring ranks.

“They don’t score many, but I when they came here, they soaked up a lot of pressure and dealt with a lot of what we had to offer, and scored from a setpiece.

“I think that is fundamentally where their strength is.”
