MARSKE United are six points behind leaders Morpeth Town with five games in hand after beating rockbottom Billingham Synthonia 6-1.

Jarrow Roofing’s survival hopes were dented when two late goals saw them lose 2-1 at home to Team Northumbri­a.

Seaham Red Star edged towards safety with a 1-1 draw against Dunston UTS, while fellow strugglers Penrith lost 2-0 to Stockton Town.

Whitley Bay’s poor run continued with a 5-0 hammering at third-top West Auckland. Newcastle Benfield came from behind to beat Shildon 4-2.

Craig Hutchinson's goal saw Newton Aycliffe beat Consett and Tony Stephenson scored a hat-trick in Ashington’s 4-0 win over North Shields.

Lowly Bishop Auckland lost 3-1 at Ryhope CW, while Sunderland RCA beat 10-man Guisboroug­h Town 3-0,

NORTH WEST COUNTIES

WIDNES kept their slim title hopes alive with a 4-0 win at home to West Didsbury & Chorlton, Chris Lomax leading the way with a goal in each half.

Runcorn Town’s outside hopes of overhaulin­g runaway leaders Runcorn Linnets ended with their 3-1 defeat at Ashton Athletic, where Joel Brownhill netted a late double.

Zack Dale scored a hat-trick as Barnoldswi­ck Town beat relegated Barnton 5-0, while a Matt Bolland strike was enough to hand Irlam a 1-0 win at AFC Liverpool.

A late Ryan Steele penalty earned AFC Darwen a 3-3 draw with Congleton Town

Elswhere, there were good home wins for Hanley Town and Bootle against City of Liverpool and Winsford United, while Burscough beat Abbey Hey 3-2 with Alex Parkes’ penalty securing the points.

NORTHERN COUNTIES EAST

PONTEFRACT remain top after Vaughan Redford and Aaron Moxam earned victory at Maltby.

They are just a point ahead of AFC Mansfield, who won 2-1 against Athersley but the league leaders have a crucial have three games in hand.

Declan Bacon was in sizzling form with an 18-minute hat-trick in Bottesford’s 4-0 defeat of Worksop.

Nash Connolly scored three in Hemsworth’s 8-1 thrashing of already relegated Parkgate and a Reagan Ward brace secured Hall Road victory over Thackley.

Nathan Keightley also scored two in Penistone’s 6-0 defeat of Clipstone, while Robson Doolans smashed a 75th minute winner for Staveley at Handsworth.

Callum Ward and Mark Simpson helped Garforth to victory at Harrogate and Pickering eased to a 3-1 win at Bridlingto­n.

UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE

WISBECH Town now need to win their last two games to take the championsh­ip following their 6-0 home drubbing of Oadby Town. John Ford netted a hat-trick, while Alex Beck hit a brace and Jonny Fairweathe­r also got on the score sheet.

Wisbech are in second place, one point behind leaders Yaxley with a game in hand.

Yaxley crushed visitors Leicester Nirvana 5-1 courtesy of a Dan Cotton hat-trick and one each from Ross Watson and Phil Stebbing.

Newport Pagnell Town must rely on the two teams above them losing to take the title, following their 2-1 defeat at Holbeach United, who scored through Charley Sanders and Mitch Griffiths either side of a Sam Baker equaliser. Meanwhile, an Archie Moyses penalty and a goal from Simon Bollard saw Sleaford Town beat visitors Northampto­n ON Chenecks 2-0.

MIDLAND LEAGUE

HOTSHOT Marco Adaggio was back among the goals, netting a hat-trick as promotion-chasing Highgate United cruised to an 8-0 win at home to struggling Shawbury United.

But rivals Coleshill Town still have the advantage in the race for the runners-up spot following their narrow 1-0 win at Coventry Sphinx.

Worcester City are poised to pounce if these two slip up. They were 3-0 winners at Quorn, with Dave Reynolds bagging a brace.

Champions Bromsgrove Sporting beat South Normanton Ath 5-0 and Westfields edged out Rugby Town 4-3, where Mark Magee and Aidan Thomas shared the goals for the Herefordsh­ire side.

Boldmere St Michaels, Sporting Khalsa, Coventry United and Shepshed Dynamo all recorded wins as did Haughmond who got the better of relegation rivals Rocester 1-0.

ESSEX SENIOR LEAGUE

GREAT Wakering Rovers are this season’s champions after they emphatical­ly won 5-0 at home to West Essex and Basildon Utd were held to a goalless draw at Sporting Bengal United.

FC Romania ended their campaign with a 2-0 victory at Southend Manor but could drop to third if Basildon win their last match.

Redbridge remain in fourth place after they won 2-1 at home to bottom club Hackney Wick and Takeley were 4-0 winners at Barkingsid­e, with Carl Mullins and Stuart Zanone all scoring.

Waltham Forest completed their great escape after they won 3-1 at home to Ilford, while Clapton were 2-1 winners at home to Hullbridge Sports.

Burnham Ramblers will finish one from bottom after their 1-1 draw with Tower Hamlets and there were no goals in the match between Watford Town and Enfield 1893.

EASTERN COUNTIES

FELIXSTOWE & Walton United secured promotion and closed the gap on leaders Coggeshall Town to just one point after a stunning 6-0 home win against Walsham-le-Willows. Joe Francis netted a hat-trick for the Seasiders, who play Coggeshall in a likely title decider on Tuesday.

Coggeshall had two players sent-off as they suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Newmarket Town with Michael Shinn grabbing the winner for the home side.

Elsewhere, Josh Mayhew struck three times for third-placed Stowmarket Town in a 5-1 victory over Long Melford and fourth-placed Godmanches­ter Rovers won 6-1 at home to bottom side Wivenhoe Town.

In the day's other games, Brantham Athletic beat Gorleston 3-1, Hadleigh United lost 2-1 at home to Wroxham, Kirkley & Pakefield beat Ely City 3-0 and FC Clacton recorded a 4-3 away win against Saffron Walden Town.

SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS

BERKHAMSTE­D secured promotion after a 3-2 win at Edgware Town. The Comrades raced into an early three goal lead thanks to strikes from Ashton Campbell, Dan Jones and Adam Mead, before holding on to secure an historic victory.

Champions Welwyn Garden City lifted the Premier Division trophy but only after they had lost 3-1 at home to Biggleswad­e FC. Justin Leavers and Alex Marsh were among the scorers for the visitors.

At the foot of the table, Mark Summer’s hat-trick gave St Margaretsb­ury a 3-2 win at Oxhey Jets, who remain second bottom. Cockfoster­s are also in trouble after losing 2-0 at Biggleswad­e United, with Abraham Eze scoring twice.

Elsewhere, Harpenden Town beat Tring Athletic 3-2 and Chris Griffin scored a brace in London Colney’s 4-1 win at Crawley Green.

COMBINED COUNTIES

BEDFONT Sports celebrated promotion following a 2-1 home win against fourth-placed Walton & Hersham.

Player-manager Paul Johnson led by example, opening the scoring for the hosts before Tinashe Nkoma levelled with 15 minutes remaining. However, the promotion party began when Mustafa Tiryaki grabbed a late winner.

Third-placed Sutton Common Rovers drew 0-0 at Horley Town, while Balham went fifth with a 3-2 victory at bottom club Farnham Town.

Redhill took sixth spot, despite losing 3-2 at seventh-placed Camberley Town. Ryan Bell, Jamie Hoppitt and substitute Terrence Saydee scored the crucial goals for the hosts at Krooner Park.

Spelthorne Sports beat visitors CB Hounslow United 1-0, while Hanworth Villa drew 0-0 at third-frombottom Godalming Town.

SOUTHERN COMBINATIO­N

HAYWARDS Heath Town secured the title in style with a crushing 6-1 win at Chichester City. Alex Laing, Nathan Cooper, Joel Daly, Max Miller and Kane Louis were all on target for the newly crowned champions.

Three Bridges finished as runnersup, just one point behind Haywards Heath, after a thumping 5-1 home victory against Worthing United and Pagham will finish the campaign in third place after a Ryan Davidson brace handed them a 3-0 away success over Hassocks. These results mean that Worthing and Hassocks will both finish in the bottom three.

Elsewhere, bottom side Littlehamp­ton Town drew 1-1 with Eastbourne United AFC, Eastbourne Town beat Arundel 4-1 and Crawley Down Gatwick lost 4-3 at home to East Preston. Additional­ly, Loxwood ran out 5-2 winners against Saltdean United. RORY HAYWARD

SOUTHERN COUNTIES EAST

SEVENOAKS Town clinched the title with a 2-1 win at Erith Town, while Whitstable Town lost at Cray Valley.

Frankie Sawyer put Sevenoaks ahead in the 24th minute before Harrison Hume levelled on the stroke of half-time.

The decisive goal came in the 59th minute when Kenny Pogue's header was ruled to have crossed the line.

Whitstable took the lead through Chris Saunders at Cray Valley but Kevin Lisbie levelled before the break before Ryan Flack grabbed the 79th minute winner to ensure that the title went to Micky Collins' side.

Raekwon Bailey-Allen bagged a hat-trick as Croydon won 7-2 at Rusthall to leave the hosts facing possible relegation.

Crowboroug­h Athletic put the disappoint­ment of missing promotion behind them to win 4-2 at bottom side Rochester United. PAUL CARTER
