ALBION ARE A TAD CHUFFED TO NET CHRIS

TADCASTER Albion have received a welcome boost ahead of the new Northern Premier Division One East season after midfielder Chris Howarth committed his future to the club.

Howarth was a stand-out performer in the Tadcaster midfield last season, featuring 45 times as the Albion just missed out on a play-off place, finishing seventh in the Division One North table.

The former Farsley Celtic man pitched in with two goals and three assists last year.

He told the club’s website: “It didn’t really feel like last season was my first year at Tadcaster. I was always made welcome by the fans, management and the players.

“I felt as though it was always going to be a work in progress having changed management and bringing in more or less a completely new squad. However, I knew I could add something with my experience and versatility as a player.”

“It’s is a tough league and you haven’t got much time to make many mistakes, but I always had confidence that we would get things right with the right people around. Building on last season we can only improve, with having a full season together and adding further quality to the squad it’s an exciting time to see what this season brings.”

Isthmian South Central side Marlow have completed the signing of highly-rated Woodley United captain Idris Kamara.

The strong centre-back enjoyed a superb season for the the Hellenic League club last season, which saw him voted Premier Division Player of the Year as he played a key role in helping the Berkshire club avoid the drop.

Marlow boss Mark Bartley told the club’s website: “Idris is a quick, strong and intelligent defender, and was one of my main targets during the summer.

His athleticism and leadership qualities are just two of the reasons I believe this to be a great addition to our numbers.”
