The Non-League Football Paper

IT’S OFFICIAL! FOUR FROM THREE DO FIT

-

FOLLOWING the big restructuring of the Non-League Pyramid, the Bostik League will be running with an added division this season, at Step 4, which has spiced up the competition.

The North division remains but the South has been divided into two, becoming South Central and South East.

The South Central welcomes 13 new teams into the Bostik family with FC Romania, promotion winners from the Essex Senior League, one to watch.

Hayes and Yeading were transferred from the Southern League East and look good for another play-off push, but will have to do it without striker Manny Duku, who landed a move into the Football League with Cheltenham this summer.

In the North, eyes will be drawn to Bowers & Pitsea, Heybridge Swifts and Canvey Island after they missed out in the play-offs last term.

Swifts managed the feat having enjoyed wonderful runs in the FA Cup and Trophy, if they go without those distractions this year they’ll surely be right in the mix. Look out for Eastern Counties League champions and well-backed Coggeshall Town too.

Cray Wanderers finished third in the South and will be eyeing the South East title but don’t rule out Greenwich Borough, who finished just two points behind them.

Shaun Saunders knows what it takes to win promotion from this level and his new boys Haywards Heath Town from the Southern Combination League won’t be fearing anyone.
