RUNCORN TOWN continued their early good form as they made light work of West Didsbury & Chorlton.

Mark Reed’s hat-trick and Steve Lewis’ brace took them into top spot.

City of Liverpool and Irlam fought out an entertaini­ng 2-2 draw, with a late John McGrath equaliser from the penalty spot salvaging a point for the Purps, while Northwich Victoria were proving their value as early season favourites with a 4-1 home demolition of Winsford United, a Joel Brownhill brace doing most of the damage.

Congleton Town’s excellent start continued as a solitary John Main goal gave the Bears an impressive win at Squires Gate, lifting them to second.

Just behind them are Charnock Richard, who put in a strong performanc­e in a 4-1 defeat of Hanley Town, where an Ashley Young penalty put them ahead early on.

Litherland Remyca and Barnoldswi­ck shared the points after a six-goal thriller, while there were also goals up at Padiham as they beat Whitchurch Alport 3-2.

Burscough still prop up the table after Bootle put in three without reply at Victoria Park.

1874 Northwich and Abbey Hey managed a goal apiece at the Barton Stadium, while promoted Silsden’s solid return continued with a 2-0 win over Ashton Athletic.

NORTHERN COUNTIES EAST

A LAST-GASP Samuel Akeroyd penalty helped Liversedge to a 32 victory at Knaresboro­ugh Town to take them to the top of the table.

Just two other clubs have made a perfect start to the season.

Hemsworth Miners Welfare ran out 2-1 winners at Handsworth Parramore, Sallu Dawo with the winner, while Matt Sykes bagged the only goal in Worksop Town’s 1-0 defeat of Eccleshill United.

Danny Frost hit a hat-trick as Maltby Main stormed to a 4-1 win at home to Bridlingto­n Town to hoist them up to second, while an Ashey Flynn brace helped Yorkshire Amateur to a 2-2 draw against Penistone Church.

Staveley Miners Welfare were 5-0 winners at Harrogate Railway Athletic and Goole were also among the goals in their 4-2 win at Hall Road Rangers, where Billy Lawrie struck twice.

Garforth Town were 1-0 winners at home to Athersley Recreation, Curtly Martin-Wyatt with the goal, while Barton Town drew 0-0 at Thackley.

Bottesford Town looked to be heading for victory at Albion Sports after an early Jack McMenemy strike, only for Sam Denton to level midway through the second half.

UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE

TABLE-TOPPING Daventry Town maintained their perfect start to the season with an emphatic 3-0 victory at Wellingbor­ough Whitworth.

Goals from Luke Emery, Greg Anayitos and a late Adam Creaney penalty clinched a deserved three points for Arron Parkinson’s side.

Second-placed Eynesbury Town ensured Harborough Town’s early struggles continued as they were put to the sword, Jamal McKenzie claiming the pick of the bunch in a 3-0 win.

Holbeach United handed out the drubbing of the day with a 6-0 thrashing of Kirby Muxloe, Will Bird and Jack Smith claiming a brace apiece as they rose to 12th in the league.

Rugby Town edged a seven-goal thriller 5-2 at home to Boston Town, Danico Johnson hitting another hattrick to take his tally to eight this term.

Cogenhoe United and Deeping Rangers both continued their strong starts with a point apiece at Oadby Town and Desborough Town respective­ly, while Ian Dunn’s tap-in was enough to earn Pinchbeck United victory over Leicester Nirvana.

Ryan Oliver hit a hat-trick to hand Sleaford Town victory against Northampto­n ON Chenecks in a 5-0 romping, with Peterborou­gh Northern Star equalling that scoreline at Rothwell Corinthian­s.

Newport Pagnell Town battled to a 2-2 draw against Wellingbor­ough Town to earn their first point this term.

MIDLAND LEAGUE

ILKESTON TOWN are the new leaders in the Premier Division following their 2-0 win at Walsall Wood.

But they had to wait until the final stages before finally finding a way through, Kyle Dixon opening the scoring with a long-range effort on 67 minutes. Alex Marshall wrapped up the points when he chipped home three minutes from time.

Coventry Sphinx are one of two unbeaten sides in the league following their 2-0 win at AFC Wulfrunian­s, where Chris Sterling and a Callum Woodward penalty secured the spoils.

Highgate United are the others not to taste defeat, but they were held to a goalless draw at Long Eaton United, with Dunkirk’s match with Romulus also finishing goalless.

Westfields were the day’s biggest winners as they saw off Shepshed Dynamo 4-1, while two Joe Lawley goals helped Lye Town to a 3-1 win at Wolverhamp­ton Sporting Community.

Worcester City and Coventry United were involved in a thrilling 2-2 draw that finished with the latter having Shaquille McDonald sent off.

Ryan Shaw’s goal steered Boldmere St Michaels to a 1-0 win at Quorn and an Andy Nicol effort gave Stourport Swifts victory by the narrowest margin against South Normanton Athletic.

Sporting Khalsa ran out 2-0 winners at home to Loughborou­gh University with both goals coming from Saint Kitts & Nevis internatio­nal Tesfa Robinson.

ESSEX SENIOR LEAGUE

LEADERS Woodford Town were knocked off their perch by Sawbridgew­orth Town, who won with a solitary goal from Joe Wright.

Taking over at the top of the table are Takeley, who beat third-placed Walthamsto­w 4-1 thanks to doubles from Stuart Zanone and Charlie Cole, while James Peagram netted a late consolatio­n.

The most dramatic game of the day was at Saffron Walden Town, who led 3-1 and 4-2 but had to settle for a point in a 4-4 draw with Sporting Bengal United.

Charlie Portway scored three times for Town and Lewis Francis got the other, but goals in the last ten minutes from Ashaan Siddik and Steven Carvell earned a point for Sporting.

Calvin Poku’s double plus an own goal helped Redbridge to a 3-1 win at Tower Hamlets, whose goal came from Amon Walton-Owen.

Hullbridge Sports, at home to Stansted, and Hoddesdon Town, at Southend Manor, both enjoyed 2-1 victories.

Clapton bounced back from their midweek FA Cup exit with a 2-0 victory at Stanway Rovers, who remain pointless. Eusebio Da Silva got both goals.

EASTERN COUNTIES

JOSH MAYHEW struck a hat-trick for Stowmarket Town as they climbed up to second after a comfortabl­e 3-0 victory at FC Clacton.

Histon went top of the league on Friday evening after Ed Rolph netted twice and Dan Brown added another in a 3-1 success at Godmanches­ter Rovers.

Brantham Athletic dropped one place to third, having to settle for a 1-1 draw at Newmarket Town.

Nathan Rowe grabbed a brace for Long Melford in an impressive 3-1 home victory over Ely City.

Newly-promoted Framlingha­m Town are now bottom of the table after suffering a 2-0 defeat at home to Haverhill Rovers.

Ben Bradley and Mikey Davis were on target for the visitors, who secured their first win of the new season.

Liam Jackson scored twice for Norwich United as they ran out 4-1 winners at home to Woodbridge Town, while Kirkley & Pakefield secured a thrilling 4-3 victory at Hadleigh United.

Gorleston lost 3-0 at home to fourth-placed Walsham-le-Willows and Whitton United were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Thetford Town.

Wroxham beat Great Yarmouth Town 3-1 in Friday’s other game.

SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS

EARLY pacesetter­s Biggleswad­e FC made it three wins from three after an excellent 4-1 win at Cockfoster­s.

Lawrence Marsh and Lee Northfield both scored twice as the hosts moved to the top of the table.

Oxhey Jets picked up their second win this term as they beat Stotfold 2-0 thanks to Luke Jones’ brace.

The result leaves Stotfold bottom of the table without a point so far.

Crawley Green played their first game at their new ground the Brache, but ended up on the wrong side of a seven-goal thriller as they lost 4-3 to Tring Athletic.

Crawley actually led going into the last five minutes but two quickfire Luke Dunstan goals turned the game on its head.

Two sides whose perfect starts came to an end this weekend are Arlesey Town, who lost 4-3 at Hadley, and Potton United, who were beaten 2-1 at home to Edgware Town. Ivan Machado scored twice for the Wares.

Baldock Town picked up their first points since promotion in a 2-1 win at home to Wembley.

Taylor Rhiney scored the game’s only goal as Biggleswad­e United won 1-0 at London Tigers, while Dominic Rhone and Aaron McLeish were on target for hosts North Greenford United as they beat Harpenden Town 2-0.

COMBINED COUNTIES

BALHAM survived a late scare to secure a 3-2 win at Walton & Hersham.

The Wimbledon-based side raced into a three-goal lead but had to weather a late storm after conceding two second half goals.

Daryl Cooper-Smith’s brace and a fine finish from Ollie Twum gave Sutton Common Rovers a superb 3-0 win at Badshot Lea.

The Commoners were indebted to defender Craig Hastings, who put in a man of the match performanc­e.

Chertsey Town looked in fine form as they eased to a convincing 4-1 home victory over Raynes Park Vale, while Redhill and Guildford City both secured narrow 2-1 wins against Knaphill and Camberley Town respective­ly.

Southall v Abbey Rangers and Cobham v Hanworth Villa both ended in 1-1 draws and the points were also shared at Green Lane as CB Hounslow United drew 2-2 with Barnstead Athletic in an entertaini­ng match.

In Division One, FC Deportivo Galicia secured the result of the day as they thumped Fleet Spurs 7-2.

The first half was actually a closely fought affair with Deportivo Galicia having a narrow 3-2 lead at the break, but the second period was complete one-way traffic as the home side fired in four goals. HUGO VARLEY

CHICHESTER CITY went top after a 2-1 home win over Horsham YMCA.

Scott Jones netted both goals for the new league leaders including an 86th-minute winner.

Pagham are now in second place after Lindon Miller’s 81st minute equaliser rescued a point for them in a 1-1 draw at Crawley Down Gatwick.

Little Common suffered a 1-0 defeat at East Preston with Scott Rafferty scoring in the 23rd minute.

Shoreham won 2-1 at home against Eastbourne Town, while Lee Robinson struck twice as Newhaven picked up their first win this term, 3-1 at Lancing.

A 90th-minute Jordan Warren leveller handed Loxwood a dramatic 1-1 draw at AFC Uckfield Town.

Devon Fender scored a hat-trick and George Cousins bagged a brace as Broadbridg­e Heath secured a thrilling 5-4 home win against Lingfield.

Marcus Richmond netted twice for Peacehaven & Telscombe in a comfortabl­e 3-1 home victory against bottom side Hassocks.

Arundel were held to a goalless draw at home by Langney Wanderers.

On Friday night, Toby House struck twice for third-placed Saltdean United as they ran out 3-1 winners at Eastbourne United AFC.

HELLENIC LEAGUE

WANTAGE TOWN made it four wins from four to remain top of the Hellenic Premier Division following a 31 victory over Bishops Cleeve.

Jack Dunmah opened the scoring before Harvey Scholes added a second and Connor Mattimore sealed the victory in the second half.

Reading City and Brackley Town Saints also have perfect starts, but have played a game less with three wins from three.

City were 3-1 victors at Fairford Town with Alfie Grant volleying home the opener before Mitch Parker and Harry Grant hit further goals, while the Saints beat Longlevens 3-2.

Flackwell Heath made it two wins from four games with a 2-0 victory over Brimscombe & Thrupp.

Oxfordshir­e-based Ardley United picked up their first victory of the season, a 2-1 win over Tuffley Rovers with Louis Joyce and Deon Gallacher netting in the first half.

Ascot United also earned their second victory of the season after running out 4-1 winners over Lydney Town.

Ian Davies scored a 92nd-minute winner as Binfield triumphed by a single goal against Holmer Green.

Gus Bowles scored an injury time winner as Windsor beat Royal Wootton Bassett Town 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller. BEN GODDARD

SOUTHERN COUNTIES EAST

CHATHAM TOWN maintained their 100 per cent start with a 2-0 win at home to Glebe.

Paul Vines opened the scoring in the 29th minute, with Jon Pilbeam adding the second five minutes from time.

Cray Valley came from 2-0 down to win 5-3 at Lordswood.

Former Charlton and Ipswich striker Kevin Lisbie scored four for the Millers including a seven-minute hat-trick.

Deal Town moved up to second as they beat Rusthall 3-0.

All the goals came before half-time, with Connor Coyne’s early opener followed by a Ben Cardwell double.

AFC Croydon Athletic remain unbeaten after Joe Nwoko’s 75th minute goal gave them a 1-0 win at Tunbridge Wells, who are still looking for their first point.

Fisher won 4-1 at bottom side Crowboroug­h Athletic to continue their good start, while Aaron Jeffrey scored twice as Erith Town came from a goal down to beat Bearsted 3-1.

James Turner scored the only goal as Canterbury City beat Punjab United 1-0, while a late own goal denied Corinthian victory in a 1-1 draw with K Sports after Charlie Clover had put them ahead.

WESTERN LEAGUE

WESTBURY UNITED’S perfect start to the campaign continued at Brislingto­n, with last season’s First Division champions claiming a 4-0 win.

Callum Demkiv scored either side of the break to give Westbury a two-goal lead, with Ricky Hulbert and Waleed Bakali completing the victory.

Bitton are another side with nine points from three games, with five different scorers helping them to a 5-0 triumph at home to Hengrove.

Willand maintained their winning start with a 4-2 defeat of Chipping Sodbury at Silver Street.

Roman Glass St George have started impressive­ly this term, with the promoted side enjoying a 4-1 win over Buckland Athletic.

Having led 1-0 at the break through Rick Davies, the hosts pushed on in the second half with the prolific Ryan Radford completing a hat-trick.

There was late drama in Bath where Adnan Hiroli struck two minutes from time to hand Odd Down a 2-1 home win against Wellington.

Cadbury Heath drew 1-1 at Bridgwater Town with a late equaliser.

Goals from Jack Sell and Alex Camm handed fifth-placed Clevedon Town a 2-0 win over Shepton Mallet, with Jordan Trott and Adam Carter scoring as Plymouth Parkway won at Cribbs by the same scoreline.

Hallen became the latest side to put Shortwood United to the sword, with Aaron Anglin and Daryl Charman both scoring braces in a 6-0 away win.

Bradford Town twice found equalisers to draw 2-2 at Bridport.

FAREHAM TOWN enjoyed a comfortabl­e 2-0 home win against Shaftesbur­y in the Premier Division.

Lamin Jatta put the hosts ahead at Cams Alders, a lead that was doubled by Gary Austin.

Bemerton Heath Harlequins and Bashley drew 1-1 at Western Way.

Harlequins went ahead in the match, but Rian Drake scored a stunning equaliser in stoppage time to earn a point for the visitors.

Lymington Town won 2-0 at Andover New Street.

The visitors went ahead through Sam House and the lead was doubled by ex-AFC Bournemout­h youngster Tim Stephenson.

A solitary Sam Hamilton goal on 79 minutes was enough for Tadley Calleva to win 1-0 at Brockenhur­st.

Harry Jackson was on target for Horndean, but it wasn’t enough as they lost 2-1 at Hamworthy United.

Bournemout­h Poppies prepared for their FA Cup trip to Winchester City next week with a 4-3 victory at Team Solent.

Steve Flynn netted a hat-trick for the visitors at Test Park, with Ron Frost scoring their other goal.
