SAINTS CONSPIRE TO DENY EAGLES FIRST WIN
BEDFONT Sports are still seeking their first home win of the season after Chalfont St
Peter emerged from the Bedfont Sports Club with a 3-2 win.
But it was the home side who took a 1-0 lead into half-time as James Simmonds fired them into the lead 30 minutes in.
The second 45 was all-action, however, as Charles Mitchell grabbed the leveller from a free header.
Adam Morris put the visitors in front from the spot before grabbing his second from an indirect free-kick.
Bedfont responded immediately, though, as Scott Harris notched a mere consolation.
Ashford Town weathered a late storm as they emerged from their trip to Tooting &
Mitcham with a 3-2 win. Eliott Poley headed the visitors into the lead from a corner mid-way through the first-half but the Terrors were on terms before the break.
It was Ashford who regained the advantage in the second period as James Cottee converted from the spot.
And they doubled their lead five minutes later with Max Webb latching onto Cottee’s flick from a long throw.
They were made to sweat when Tooting pulled one back late on, but the Tangerines held strong to claim all three points.
Waltham Abbey emerged victorious as they hosted Hayes
& Yeading United in a clash of two early pace-setters.
Waltham looked the most likely in the second period, seeing an Ellis Brown goal disallowed for offside before Charlie Stimson finally grabbed the winner 15 minutes from time.
The result sees Abbey leapfrog their opponents in the league as they go second.
Cheshunt dispatched South
Park 3-1 in a match that was won with relative ease.

Park claimed a consolation late on when Leslie controlled a clearance and scored.
Westfield FC got their first away win of the season, three second-half goals sealing a 4-0 win at Molesey.
The visitors went ahead through a Karle Carder-Andrews penalty six minutes and he doubled tally on 48 minutes.
Daryl Cooper-Smith added the cherry on top when he netted an outstanding volley.
Egham Town skipper’s Ashley Lodge’s late equaliser earned the Sarnies a deserved point as they drew 1-1 with Hertford. The visitors had earlier taken the lead when George Lutaaya converted from a corner.
An uncompromising game between Hanwell Town and
Chipstead FC finished 0-0 with each team earning a single point and nursing a few bumps and bruises. Elsewhere Marlow beat FC
Romania 2-0 thanks to goals from Kameron English and Chris Ovenden whilst their opponents finished the game with eight men.
