BICESTER BOW OUT CRAIG’S ON TRACK
BICESTER TOWN have pulled out of both the Uhlsport Hellenic League and the FA Vase competitions.
The Foxhunters were unable to field a team against AFC Aldermaston in Division One East last Saturday, and Wednesday’s Subsidiary Cup tie with Thame Rangers was also postponed.
The club officially withdrew from the league on the same day, just three years after being reformed.
They had been due to visit Spartan South Midlands Division One outfit Brimsdown in the FA Vase second qualifying round yesterday until their sudden withdrawal from the competition just three days before.
CRAIG OGILVIE has been named as the new manager of Northern Counties East Premier strugglers Harrogate Railway Athletic.
Ogilvie has been promoted from assistant manager to take the place of Brian Davey, who quit with the club languishing at the bottom of the table.
A club statement said: “Brian took charge in the close season at the personal request of chairman Mike Edwards. His remit was to stabilise and rebuild the football section of the club after escaping relegation last season.
“He has done that with great effect, putting in place a structure that will promote quality youth football for the future.”
