Five-star Ravens produce stunner

- By Ben Tyler

COALVILLE Town romped to a crushing victory over Redditch United as Andrew Wright and Tim Berridge each notched a brace.

Wide-man Tom McGlinchey got proceedings underway for the visitors, when he looped a swerving effort over the head of Louis Connor who was caught off his line.

Shaquille LeachmanWhittingham had the best chance to haul Redditch level when firing narrowly wide of the bottom-left corner, but the Reds could only stand motionless to watch Wright’s drive into the top-left corner from distance to double Coalville’s advantage.

There was some hope for the home side after the break when Montel Gibson headed in at the far post but Coalville continued to dominate proceedings.

That dominance would be rewarded with a late flurry of goals. First, Berridge notched his first of the afternoon when gifted a free header from McGlinchey’s left-wing cross from close-range, before Wright sealed his brace with a leftfooter off the underside of the bar.

The rout was completed in the 81st minute when Berridge fired home a cutback.
