KEMPSTON ROVERS 1 BEDFORD TOWN 3
By Matthew Vine
IN THIS competitive contest, Bedford Town gained the three points in a great derby at Hillgrounds. In front of 350 supporters, Bedford took the lead early on through Dan Walker as his shot off the crossbar went over the line before bouncing out.
But Kempston Rovers quickly equalised as Luke Heneghan’s deflected effort looped into the net.
The Eagles responded quickly and midfielder Callum Donnelly equalised from a yard out after the corner.
Rovers were chasing the game in the second half and in stoppage time, veteran frontman Lee Roache wrapped things up for Bedford.
