Hulme magic adds gloss for Altrincham

- By Phil Brennan

ALTRINCHAM 4 BRADFORD PARK AVENUE 2 JORDAN Hulme’s superb solo goal was the cherry on top of a terrific team performance by Altrincham as they progressed to the next round of the FA Cup at the expense of Bradford Park Avenue.

The home side had been behind twice in an entertaining first half during which both sides had hit a post before Jake Beesley converted from the spot to open the scoring. The striker having been felled in the box by home skipper Jake Moult.

Defender Connor Hampson brought his side level scrambling home after good work down the left by Hulme before visiting centre-half Shane Killock put visitors back in front with his fourth goal of the year.

Moult made up for his error by levelling matters again. His shot from 25 yards taking a deflection on its way passed Steven Drench.

The second half saw the visitors losing the midfield battle with the enforced reshuffle following defender Gianluca Havern’s departure at the break. The former Alty player coming off second best in an earlier challenge with Hulme.

After constant pressure the home side finally got their noses in front when defender James Jones forced home a corner kick from the left.

Hulme then picked up a loose ball on the left and drifted inside before smashing home a great effort from the edge of the box to finish the scoring.
