CONGLETON TOWN continued their strong start with a comprehens­ive 5-0 win over West Didsbury & Chorlton at Brookburn Road.

Goals from Dean Warburton, Billy Hasler-Creg, Bevan Burey and substitute­s Mini Adegbenro and Dec Fletcher did the damage.

Barnoldswi­ck Town, who started the day fourth in the table, were beaten 2-0 at mid-table Whitchurch Alport at Yockings Park – Congleton have now leapfrogge­d them.

Bottom of the table Abbey Hey produced a strong performanc­e to get a surprise 2-1 win over Padiham.

Nathan Edwards put them in front on 53 minutes, a penalty from Chris Turner levelled for Padiham shortly after, only for Oliver Walker to grab the winner from the spot on 77 minutes.

Bootle faced Burscough at Vesty Road with both clubs being without a permanent manager, and it was visitors Burscough who won 3-0.

Yves Zama put the Linnets ahead on ten minutes with Chad Whyte doubling that lead from the spot just before the break. Demetri Brown rounded off the scoring on 75 minutes.

Ashton Athletic and 1874 Northwich drew 2-2.

1874 Northwich had been two-up courtesy of a Scott McGowan brace, but goals from Josh Nicholson and George Hassall in the last seven minutes rescued a point for Athletic.

NORTHERN COUNTIES EAST

YORKSHIRE AMATEUR top the pile after second half goals from Ashley Flynn and T’Nique Fishley scooped a 2-0 win over Liversedge.

Knaresboro­ugh Town kept pace despite a frantic finish with a 4-2 success over Hall Road Rangers.

Paul Beesley and Brad Walker had seemingly put Town in a comfortabl­e position, but Josh Vickers halved the deficit 20 minutes from the end.

Ben Cohen got credited with Knaresboro­ugh’s third, with there being question marks over whether it was an own goal, but Rangers were not done and Dan Nichols set up a nervy finish a minute from time.

Then with five minutes of added time to negotiate, Ben Parkes stepped up to keep his cool from the penalty spot to removed all doubt.

The shock of the day came at Penistone Church, who sank to fourth having harboured hopes of seizing top spot at the start of play.

Thomas Dugdale’s brace and a lastminute goal from Khurram Shazad saw Eccleshill United win 3-0 at Church View Road.

A bumper gate of 525 saw Worksop Town play out a 1-1 draw with Maltby Main as Kyle Jordan’s equaliser cancelled out Cameron Rigby’s opener for the visitors.

Jack Briscoe got the first of his double from the penalty spot and was joined by Chris Wood on the scoresheet as Athersley Recreation won 30 at second-bottom Goole.

Albion Sports heaped more misery on the top flight’s strugglers by winning 4-1 at Harrogate Railway Athletic.

UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE

ADAM CONFUE’S 52nd-minute winner restored Daventry Town to the top of the table with a 1-0 victory at Rothwell Corinthian­s.

Daventry had slipped to second last week behind newly-promoted Pinchbeck United.

Confue found Dean Lukeman out on the left and ran into the box to flick home the resulting cross.

Daventry were reduced to ten men when Taylor Orosz was shown a red card for a scuffle with an opponent, in which sub Jordan Orosz was booked.

Cogenhoe United beat visitors Desborough Town 1-0 with just two minutes left on the clock.

Ryan Dove headed home at the back post from a Montel Dore cross.

Oadby Town returned to winning ways with a 2-0 home win over Northampto­n ON Chenecks.

Mason Brown and Sam Hollis were on target to make amends for Oadby’s 1-0 home defeat by Lutterwort­h Town in the Leicesters­hire & Rutland FA Challenge Cup in midweek.

The administra­tive problem which led to Oadby being suspended by the local FA and unable to play last week’s league game at Deeping Rangers has also been cleared up.

Jordan Tate’s 88th-minute leveller earned lowly Boston Town a 1-1 draw at fourth-placed Eynesbury Rovers.

Danny Draper had given the home side the lead in the 47th minute.

MIDLAND LEAGUE

BEN MILLER was Westfields’ two-goal hero, securing a share of the spoils for the Herefordsh­ire side in their 2-2 draw with AFC Wulfrunian­s.

Kyle Brady handed the visitors a 19th-minute lead when he picked up an excellent throughbal­l from Jake Webb before steering his shot home.

But it was all square at the break as Miller thumped an excellent strike into the net to haul Westfields level.

The second half followed a similar route with Charles Wilson restoring Wulfs’ lead soon after the restart, before hotshot Miller levelled for a second time with an excellent finish from a tight angle 15 minutes from the end to lift Westfields up to second.

The only other Premier Division game saw Dunkirk run out 3-0 winners at home to Coventry Sphinx.

There were plenty of early chances with both sides hitting the woodwork before the hosts finally opened the scoring on 24 minutes, when Daryll Thomas found the net following good work from Joe Brown.

Ryan Harkin twice went close for Sphinx only to be denied by keeper Alex Smith and those misses proved costly as Dunkirk wrapped things up with two goals in three second half minutes.

Josh Barr Rostron headed home on 72 minutes after a Romello Nangle shot had been parried, with Nangle wrapping thing up soon after.

ESSEX SENIOR LEAGUE

STANSTED are the new league leaders after Moses Carvelho scored an 86th-minute winner to beat bottom club Barkingsid­e 2-1.

Connor Hammond gave the Airportmen the lead after 26 minutes, but Side drew level with 16 minutes to go when Warren Kayembe scored.

Previous leaders Hullbridge Sports was surprising­ly held at home by Leyton Athletic.

Hullbridge twice took the lead, first through Luke Hornsley after 15 minutes and then through Jimmy Cox ten minutes into the second half.

But both goals were pegged back by Leyton’s prolific Dwade James.

His first equaliser came three minutes into first half stoppage time and the second with 18 minutes remaining.

At the foot of the table, 19th-placed Stanway Rovers have climbed above Tower Hamlets after beating them 2-1.

The scorers for Rovers were Terry Nesbitt and Toby Blanche, while Luke With replied for Tower.

Safron Walden Town beat St Margaretsb­ury 5-2, with Town’s goals coming from Lewis Francis’ penalty, Daniel Trendall’s brace, James Solkhon and Craig Calver. Charncey Dash and David Greene replied for Saints.

Sporting Bengal United were grateful to playmaker Steven Carvell, who rescued them a point against Hoddesdon Town. Courtney Clay gave Town the lead on the stroke of half-time, but Carvell rescued a point ten minutes from time. DAVID BALLHEIMER

EASTERN COUNTIES

HADLEIGH UNITED climbed out of the bottom three after a 2-0 home victory against Ely City.

Daniel Thrower and Jack Severy were both on target for the home side as they picked up just their third league win of the season and are now one point clear of the drop zone.

Josh Stevens, George Mrozek and Jack Newman were all on the scoresheet for Whitton United as they secured an impressive 3-2 home success against third-placed Norwich United.

Framlingha­m Town dropped into the relegation places after suffering a 3-2 defeat at home to Long Melford.

Walsham-le-Willows moved up to fifth after a comfortabl­e 3-0 home win against Brantham Athletic.

Jack Brame, Ryan Gibbs and Lee Sim were the home side’s goalscorer­s.

The defeat for Brantham sees them remain eighth with four wins from their seven games played.

Struggling Haverhill Rovers lost 2-0 at Gorleston.

Ross Gilfedder opened the scoring for the home side on the stroke of halftime, before Ryan Fuller’s 90th-minute strike wrapped up all three points.

The result means Haverhill are now two points adrift of safety, while Gorleston’s victory sees them move three points clear of the drop zone.

SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS

COCKFOSTER­S’ game at Oxhey Jets was abandoned late in the first half after a Fosters player assaulted the referee.

Biggleswad­e FC extended their lead at the top of the Premier Division table, but only after they dropped points for the second time this season as they drew 2-2 at Edgware Town.

Laurie Marsh opened the scoring for the visitors after being set up by his brother Alex, before Town’s Mikkel James grabbed an equaliser.

Alex Marsh then got himself on the scoresheet, heading home an Adam Drakulic cross to give the visitors the lead, but the hosts earned a point thanks to Claudio Tipote’s equaliser.

Arlesey Town cemented third place after they won 4-0 at London Tigers.

Town’s seventh league win of the season came courtesy of Lorrel Smith’s excellent hat-trick, with James Hatch grabbing the visitors’ fourth goal.

A bad-tempered second half saw both sides finish with ten men.

Captain Paul Wright scored the game’s only goal as Hadley won 1-0 at home to Leighton Town.

Wembley remain in the bottom two after they lost for the seventh time this season, falling 4-0 at Potton United.

Danny Webb and Aaron Murrell scored before the break, with further goals from Christian Smail and Gary Ansell-Carter ensuring Potton move into the top six. CHRIS MITCHELL

COMBINED COUNTIES

NAT THOMAS scored both of Knaphill’s goals in their tightlycon­tested 2-1 win over AFC Hayes.

Thomas opened the scoring two minutes before the interval, only for Lu Ndovi to equalise in the 52nd minute.

Thomas popped up to grab a 69thminute winner for the fifth-from-bottom hosts, who held on in the face of sustained pressure from the bottom club.

Raynes Park Vale took an 81stminute lead in an evenly-contested game at Collier Wood United.

Jack Williamson ran through to chip the goalkeeper, breaking the deadlock.

But the hosts were back on level

terms just three minutes later when Michael Farm scored from the penalty spot, with the match ending 1-1.

In Division One, the highest score of the day went to AC London who crushed visitors Cove 6-1.

The result was Cove’s tenth straight league defeat, the club being without a single point this season.

Tooting Bec saw off visitors Fleet Spurs 4-0, Sandhurst Town won 3-2 at Chessingto­n & Hook United, Dorking Wanderers Reserves beat visitors British Airways 4-2 and leaders Farnham Town were held to a 1-1 draw at Frimley Green.

SOUTHERN COMBINATIO­N

CHICHESTER CITY are still top despite suffering a shock 2-1 defeat at home to Eastbourne Town.

George Taggart scored both goals for the visitors, while Connor Cody’s goal for the hosts with five minutes left proved to be no more than a consolatio­n effort.

Bottom side Eastbourne United AFC lost 3-2 at Arundel.

Ben Gray, Harry Russell and Jordan Dudas were all on target for the home side, who had two players sent off, and the result sees them move four points clear of the relegation places.

Jack Langford’s 75th-minute strike was enough to hand Lancing a 1-0 win at Broadbridg­e Heath and move four points clear of the drop zone.

Langney Wanderers picked up just their second win of the season as they recorded a 3-1 victory at Shoreham.

Trevor McCreadie opened the scoring for the visitors in the 11th minute before Tadley Bromage equalised for Shoreham shortly after.

Wayne Wilkinson restored Langney’s advantage on the half hour mark and they eventually wrapped up all three points when Max Hollobone grabbed their third goal in the 89th minute.

Second-placed Horsham YMCA were not involved in league action.

HELLENIC LEAGUE

BRACKLEY TOWN SAINTS moved top of the league with a 41 home victory over Tuffley Rovers.

Ryan Knight led the way with two goals and there was one each for James Hammond and Charlie Kille.

Charlie Bailey helped himself to a hat-trick as hosts Fairford Town beat Homer Green 5-0.

Also getting in on the act were scorers Robbie James and Jon Thomas.

Royal Wootton Bassett Town beat Reading City 3-1.

Town’s opener came when a throwin dropped in the penalty box for Brad Pagliaroli to fire into the top corner on the half volley for a superb finish.

Matt Bennett eluded a challenge to fire a first time 20-yard effort into the bottom corner and make it 2-0.

Number three came when a move initiated by keeper Charlie McCready was finished off by Pagliaroli after Rob Lincoln had seen his shot parried.

Mitch Parker added a late consolatio­n goal from the penalty spot.

Bishop’s Cleeve extended their unbeaten run to five games when they beat visitors Ardley United 3-1.

On target were Harrison Iddles, Brad Martin and substitute Kevin Slack. Tobias London responded late on.

SOUTHERN COUNTIES EAST

FISHER took advantage of their rivals being in Vase action as they moved up to third with a 4-0 home win against Glebe.

Rob Brown put the Fish ahead in the fifth minute, with Matthieu Ramsamy scoring a second before the break.

Luke Haidorovic added a third just before the hour, before Brown rounded off the scoring with his second.

Crowboroug­h Athletic move into the top half with a 3-0 win at Hollands & Blair.

Luke Leppard open the scoring a minute before the break and late goals from Jack Funnell and Kieron Scarebury rounded off an excellent afternoon for the Crows.

K Sports enjoyed their first win since the opening day of the season with Tom Pyne’s 23rd-minute goal enough to beat Punjab United 1-0.

In Division One, leaders Welling Town were held for only the second time in 12 games in a 1-1 draw at Meridian VP.

Brendan Hobbs gave Meridian the lead, but Dan Wells rescued Welling’s unbeaten record 15 minutes from time.

Holmesdale closed the gap to eight points as they triumphed 4-2 at Rochester United with veteran striker Andy Constable scoring twice.

Erith & Belvedere retained third spot with a 2-0 win at Forest Hill Park and Sutton Athletic’s excellent form continued with a 1-0 win at Kent Football United. PAUL CARTER

WESTERN LEAGUE

BRIDGWATER TOWN capitalise­d on their closest rivals being in cup action to move top of the league thanks to a 5-1 win at Shepton Mallet.

The leading scorers in the division are averaging more than three goals a game this season, with their latest three points delivered thanks to braces from Jack Taylor and Harry Horton.

Wayne Thorne’s first game in charge of Bradford Town saw his new side come from behind to win 3-1 at Wellington.

After falling behind early on, Town got back on level terms before being handed the initiative just prior to halftime when Wellington’s Tom Hawkings was given his marching orders.

The visitors took advantage of the extra man in the 62nd minute when Dan Price headed them ahead, before substitute Jason Henley wrapped things up five minutes from time.

Clevedon Town were another side to win on their travels, with goals either side of the interval from Jack Sell and Syd Camper leading them to a 2-0 triumph at Hengrove Athletic.

Buckland Athletic made it back-toback league wins for the first time this season, as Richard Groves scored in each half to help them overturn a twogoal deficit in their 4-2 defeat of Shortwood United.

Daryl Charman’s third-minute goal proved to be the difference between the sides in Bristol, where Hallen claimed a hard-fought 1-0 win at home against Chipping Sodbury Town.

WESSEX LEAGUE

TEAM SOLENT produced the result of the day as they were 4-1 winners at Lymington Town in the Premier Division.

The visitors went ahead at the Recreation Ground before Lymington drew level in the second-half.

The game appeared to be heading towards a draw, but the Students scored three goals late in the secondhalf to run out comprehens­ive winners.

Jacob Jarvis scored the only goalof the game from Gareth Bricknell’s assist as Cowes Sports won 1-0 at Andover New Street.

The misery was compounded for the hosts late on after they had a man dismissed for two bookable offences.

Hamble Club recorded an impressive three points with a hard-fought 3-2 victory at Christchur­ch.

In Division One, Matt Bunyan grabbed a second-half equaliser for Alton as they drew 2-2 at Downton.

The hosts went ahead before Bunyan got his first of the game to draw the Brewers level.

Downton then restored their lead in the second half, before Bunyan salvaged a point for the New Forest outfit. Phil Berntsen scored the only goal of the game as Whitchurch United won at Petersfiel­d Town, while Amesbury Town won 6-1 at East Cowes Vics. MATT RICHBELL

STEP 6 ROUND-UPS SOUTH WEST PENINSULA

PLYMOUTH ARGYLE RESERVES smashed Sticker 9-0 in a top v bottom clash in the Premier Division.

Millbrook were 2-1 winners at Camelford, with both of their goals coming in the first half hour from Dan Chapman and Jake Foster.

Cullompton Rangers triumphed 3-1 at Godolphin Atlantic with Jordan Harris – who also missed a penalty – scoring a brace. Isaac Reid scored the other Rangers goal.

Helston Athletic and Callington Town were deadlocked at 0-0 on a blustery day at Kellaway Park.

EAST MIDLANDS

CLIFTON battered Borrowash Victoria 12-1 with Aaron Large scoring five and Jahred Russell also netting a hat-trick.

Aiden Blewitt, Craig Meakin, Ashley Way and an own goal completed the rout, with a Charlie Goodwin netting a consolatio­n for the visitors.

It was also a bad day for the two teams below Borrowash at the foot of the table, with Arnold losing 4-0 at Radford where Rav Jackson grabbed a brace.

Rainworth, one off the bottom, lost 2-0 at home to Ingles with Marc Shultz scoring a spectacula­r diving header.

Lee Fell scored two as Graham Street Prims won 3-1 at Gedling, while headers from Sam Agar and Elliot King earned the points for Newark at Kimberley.

Ashby came from behind to win 2-1 at Teversal, with Kerr Horn bagging both goals to cancel out Joel Smith’s opener for the hosts.

WEST MIDLANDS REGIONAL

TIVIDALE have gone eight points clear at the top after pulling off a 3-0 win at Pegasus Juniors.

Goals from Dan Smith, Darragh Bustin and Lye Town loanee Reece Shilvock sealed the points in Hereford.

Shrewsbury side Haughmond recovered from going 2-0 down in the opening exchanges to crush thirdplace­d Wolves Casuals 6-2 and leapfrog above them in the process.

Scott Sandland and Kieron Miller had put Casuals in early control before Haughmond hit back with three goals in as many minutes from Carl Rogers, Scott Ryan and Jack Griffiths.

Harry Morris stretched the lead further before Haughmond hammered home a couple of penalties through Adam Davies and Steve Hole with his 13th league strike of the season.

Malvern Town remain fifth after beating second-from-bottom Bilston Town Community 3-0 despite being reduced to ten men.

Adam Sauntson had given Malvern an early lead before they had Louis Loader sent off before half-time.

But that didn’t stop Malvern adding two further goals through Josh Hunt.

Bottom side Pershore Town picked up a precious point after coming from 2-0 down against Dudley Sports to finish with a 2-2 draw.

Goals from Tony Beyai and a Sam Woodhouse penalty put Sports in charge, but Pershore responded through a Dane Aldington double.

Shifnal Town suffered a fourth straight defeat as Dudley Town snapped up a 2-0 win through Jordan Davies and Chris Rabone’s goals.
