AMBERS HELD AS MARLOW BATTLE

- By Howard Bailey

MARLOW started the better against a sluggish Cheshunt but neither side could find the net.

The first half belonged to the goalkeepers with Bobby Mason for Cheshunt coming out on top in several one-on-ones, and Simon Grant for Marlow making a spectacular double save to keep out a rasping drive.

The second half saw both sides create chances but fail to make them count, and as the half went on it was clear one goal would win it.

Marlow hit the post late on and Cheshunt's Kojo Awotwi shot straight at Grant when put through.

In the end, neither side found the net, with honours being shared in what was probably a fair result all round.
