DAGGERS NET TWO IN ADDED TIME

- By Craig Draycott

TWO injury-time goals from Dagenham & Redbridge earned them an FA Cup replay against Boreham Wood.

The home side opened the scoring in the 15th minute through a penalty, after Eliot Justham had brought down Joshua Umerah in the penalty area. The on-loan Charlton forward stepped up and smashed in the kick.

The first half was largely a quiet affair, with neither side really getting another sight at goal and the second half began in the same vein.

It wasn’t until the 87th minute, that the game came alive. Wood substitute Justin Shaibu received the ball from Gozie Ugwu and span past his marker, before lashing an effort into the bottom-right corner.

The Daggers were awarded an unexpected lifeline in injury time, when Femi Ilesanmi brought Tomi Adeloye down in the box. Adeloye stepped up to take the penalty himself and drilled it past Ryan Huddart.

The comeback was complete in the 94th minute when the Daggers won the ball deep in the Wood half.

Oliver Harfield crossed into the box and Luke Pennell headed past Huddart at the back post.
