RANGERS POOR RUN CONTINUED BY UNITED

- By Alan Gee

STAFFORD’S run of poor home form continued but they deserved at least a share of the spoils.

Defender John McCombe was twice involved inside the Stafford area but the visitors were unable to take advantage.

Former Stafford midfielder Osebi Abadaki sent in a decent right wing cross for Tom Pratt to lay off to JanniLipka but his shot was deflected wide.

Two minutes later Stafford’s Joe Cuff fired into the side netting.

Stafford were more positive after the break with Tom Thorley,Benns and Lewis Banks going close.

Sam Coulson worked himself some space but saw his shot deflected through to Crook then Stafford had penalty appeals turned down when Ethan Stanton went to ground.

It was against the run of play that Hyde went ahead on 72 minutes. A good shot from Abadaki hit the post via a deflection and the crossbar from the resultant corner but John McCombe was there to nod the ball in.

Connor Simpson made it 2-0 on 81 minutes before Daniel Burns replied instantly to pull one back.

James Askey missed a great chance to level but Hyde put the game to bed in added time when Tom Pratt fired home.
