SUB GRABS THE GLORY AFTER SPOT KICK MISSES

- By Dave Pearce

THIRD-placed Royston left with the points after a winner in added time.

In the first minute Royston broke onto the attack and Vance Bola’s shot was saved by onloan goalkeeper Manny Agboola, from Oxford, kept Banbury in it early on with two good saves.

Debutant Agboola then brought down Adam Murray and conceded a penalty, but he atoned with a brilliant save from Rohdell Gordon. Agboola came to Banbury’s aid again when saving from Josh Castiglione.

Banbury then should have taken the lead, but Jack Finch could not get a connection.

Banbury had a great chance to take the lead on 65 minutes when Mills was put in on goal, but Welsh saved.

A bold move from Banbury saw Georgio Rasulo put in John Mills and he won a corner.

The Crows won a corner on 82 minutes but Ben Martin headed wide. Chris Assombalonga weaved his way through the Banbury defence and his shot was saved by Agboola.

With five minutes left, Rasulo was brought down in the area by Jordan NorvilleWilliams. Rasulo stepped up to take the penalty but his shot hit the left-hand post.

Just when Banbury thought they had got a point, substitute James Potton volleyed in from 20 yards for the winner.
