THE OD’S POUNCE AS HOSTS CRUMBLE

- By Dave Wyllie

TWO late goals saw AFC Dunstable claim the spoils at rivals Barton Rovers.

Goalscoring opportunities were scarce with both sets of forwards existing on a meagre diet of high balls.

Jimmy Hartley fired wide after 12 minutes for Barton and Charlie Clayton had a couple of off-target efforts for Dunstable but neither keeper was in serious action.

More of the same came along in the second half but the game came to life viaa late, late flurry from Dunstable.

First, substitute Joel Norris headed home from a corner after 84 minutes, with the Barton defence posted missing, and then another defensive mix-up allowed BJ Christie to wrap things up.
