‘FISHERS ARE LEFT REELING BY ROSS

- By Dan Lewis

ROSS McErlain’s firsthalf header proved enough to earn Street all three points at Thatcham.

Shane Cooper-Clark fired wide early on while Gareth Thomas nearly gave the hosts the lead when he nodded just wide from Lewis Coyle’s freekick.

But in similar fashion, McEarlain directed the ball home from a Jamie Short delivery to get Street’s noses in front.

At half-time, a scuffle ensued between both sets of players but in the second period, the Khosts found themselves shackled, with Street’s Matt Hurley hitting the bar with a cross.

Late on, Thatcham almost levelled but Josh Helmore’s first-time effort flew just wide.
