BRADFORD HEADS THE ROBINS TO VICTORY

- By James Barrett

CARSHALTON Athletic recorded back-to-back wins for the first time this season after edging a tight encounter in this mid-table affair.

After the 4-0 demolition of Harlow Town last weekend, the Robins started confidently but found their visitors in no mood to bend easily.

Both sides put attempts off target before Carshalton came close twice around the half-hour mark Barkley Laurencin palmed a firm Bobby Price shot onto the crossbar.

Then, a minute later, Jerson dos Santos saw a 30 yard effort smash back off the woodwork and Kalvin MorathGibbs was denied a tap in by an offside flag.

The game became a bit feisty after the break and several cautions were dished out.

But the deadlock was broken on 62 minutes as a chipped ball by Price was nodded home by Tommy Bradford for his first goal of the season.

Town did test the home keeper on 73 minutes with a free kick, but Carshalton weren't really troubled and they almost doubled their lead in added time but sub Jacob Mendy saw a header slam back off the crossbar.

The result moves Carshalton into the middle of the table, winning their fourth game of the season and move onto 15 points with Potters Bar now in ninth place.
