CURZON ASHTON 2 AFC TELFORD UNITED 1

CURZON got off to a great start when Ryan Brooke put them ahead after only four minutes – and they never looked back.

Brooke picked up the ball with his back to goal, turned and fired past Max Bromley.

Four minutes later Brooke came close again with an audacious effort.

With half an hour gone, Curzon were the dominant side.

On 34 minutes Telford were reduced to ten when Jan McAtee was adjudged by John Matthews to have elbowed Curzon’s keeper Cameron Mason, knocking him down.

On 45 minutes Brooke was close to getting his second goal but the second half saw Telford create their best opportunity when Amari Morgan-Smith fired over.

Telford got back into the game four minutes later when a quick ball to Andre Brown saw him lash high past Mason.

But the lead only lasted only four minutes as Cameron McJannett scrambled home.

Although Telford made a great effort in the second half, Curzon did enough to deserve their first home win of the season, which sees them push up five places to tenth.
