MITCHELL HEADS THE RAVENS TO LATE POINT

- By Steve Cartwright

COALVILLE TOWN 1 ST NEOTS TOWN 1

A LATE equaliser on his debut by Kairo Mitchell gave Coalville a deserved late equaliser against St Neots.

The game was played with a gale blowing around the stadium so it was going to be difficult for both sets of players to play their best football.

The first real chance for either side resulted in St Neots taking the lead.

The ball broke to Dion Sembie-Ferris 25 yards out and he clipped a ball back into the box which curled beyond the dive of Rudy Soloha and into the far corner.

Just before the break a cross from the left saw Joe Doyle-Charles head the ball over when well placed in the box.

The second half saw chances fall to Courtney Wildin and Alex Dean but neither tested the keeper.

Mitchell then hit a superb shot from outside the box which crashed against the post.

While Nabil Sharriff almost doubled the visitors lead but was denied a goal with a superb save from Soloha.

Johnny Herd then saw red for a second booking before Mitchell headed home from a Wildin cross late on in the game, just as a point seemed unreachable.

An injury time melee involving all the players saw Coalville captain Steve Towers also dismissed for a second booking. STAR MAN: Kairo Mitchell (C’ville) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
